Hey everybody welcome to another edition of Robot Music. Before we get to the music, I'd like to say congrats to any recent collegiate graduates reading and wish you well in the future! Hitting your ears today is going to be some fresh new tunes from the likes of Pretty Lights, Laidback Luke, Armin Van Buuren, and a new take on a Flosstradamus tune provided by the one and only D.Veloped. First I'm going to introduce you to a new song by, who most would say, is the king of trance, Armin Van Buuren . [...]
This song is going to be everywhere for the next two months. It's going to be inescapable. That said, Laidback Luke's "12343 is deserving of our unwavering attention because it's just that good. Synthesizers that would make any Transformers fan weak in the knees, steady claps and bass, and Chuckie / Martin counting in ("One, [...]
As we previewed a couple of weeks back , Laidback Luke has released his newest rager today exclusively on Beatport through his label, Mixmash Records . Luke has been dropping this banger all over the place, from his set at Ultra to his headlining spot at Anomaly at Terminal 5 last month. Luke brings fellow Dutchman Chuckie along with French popstar darling Martin Solveig for one of the dirtiest house tracks of 2012 thus far. Luke, who came in 20th in DJ Mag's top DJ's of 2011, will [...]
MixMash's next monster release is Laidback Luke's UMF premiered "1234," which features Chuckie and Martin Solveig. The production effort comes solely from Luke, as Chuckie and Solveig contribute only to the chanting vocal that is so similar to " Who Is Ready To Jump ." Luke plans for "12343 to be his summer anthem, stating "…To me 1234 is the epic-ness of the epic tracks, but I wasn't even ready for such a huge success of this tune in such a short time." Fans whom have been waiting for the release of this track since Ultra can finally breathe a sigh of [...]
Ultra Music Festival is not only one of the most famed EDM weekends of the year, but also a forum for producers to test out new tracks. One of this years most notable premieres came from Laidback Luke's mainstage set, when he was joined by Chuckie for the debut of "1234," which also features Martin Solveig. The future anthem contains all the ingredients of a classic Laidback Luke track, only it is much, much bigger. Coming off his own MixMash records, Luke has every intention of "1234" dominating the summer and becoming a staple in the upcoming festival mayhem. "…To [...]

If you were at Ultra's main stage a few week's back for Laidback Luke's highly dynamic set, you heard '12342 for the first time ever. Laidback is one of the great collaborators, and here he has chosen some great support in fellow Dutchman Chuckie and Frenchman Martin Solveig . With hints of both Dirty Dutch and technical French stylings, '12342 will be out May 7 exclusively on Beatport via Laidback's own Mixmash Records , followed by a release on iTunes two weeks later. Tweet Buy the album on Amazon - Vinyl | MP3 | CD We all still clearly remember Feist singing and dancing in a sparkly blue jumpsuit, surrounded by multicolored, similarly-clad dancers, in the iPod Nano commercial that featured her massive pop hit " 1 2 3 4 " and turned her from indie darling to global sensation. Since 1999, Feist has released three [...]
This post-breakout album doesn't disappoint.
This is a pretty sweet song that came out a while ago and here's the video as well. I'll include another absolute gem that Carlprit is featured in as well. Carlprit - 1234 (R.I.O. Edit) Bryce - Dance With Me (feat Carlprit) Related posts: Mike Candys and Evelyn - One Night In Ibiza (feat Patrick Miller) OFFICIAL VIDEO Inna - Un Momento (Official Video) [...]

I admit - the first time I listened to Feist was when I saw this commercial for the ipod Nano. Her complicity in Apple brainwashing notwithstanding (it worked), "12343 is really a good song. It would have been easy to dismiss her music as the work of yet another twee-voiced indie pixie, but she knew how to command a beat and "12343 was the first example of many. So despite the fact that every other coffeehouse in Williamsburg seemed to have The Reminder on repeat, I grit my teeth and admitted she was for real. (More evidence [...]

Tweet I'll be honest, in the last couple of weeks out of all the times I've looked at the cover art above for Feist 's third album "Metals" , not once did I notice that Leslie Feist herself was hanging out on that tree branch up there until the time of writing this post. My glaring oversight aside, it's been four years coming but at long last Feist has returned with new music, and since that last album "The Reminder" [...]

1) There IS a Shoreditch Park. But ask me to how to get there and I'll only be able to provide this: "We started off in Hoxton Square, then....ehrm..yeah." Just don't allow my sense of direction to guide you, and trust that there definitely was an ample area of green. Six hectares of green . For you international lot, that means nothing, but indulge me some humour and imagine yourself in a semi-derelict/fairly regenerated neighbourhood loitered by most walks of life (though weighing heavily on artsy fartsy beauts wanting their post code to reflect their [...]

Since its inception four years ago, The 1-2-3-4 festival in Shoreditch has become a standard on London's music calendar. This year's line-up sees a handful of big names end a day that is a treasure trove of fresh new sounds over three tents and a main stage. It's cheap (£22.50), the toilets are clean and well maintained, the sun shines and everyone looks lovely. And it's not Oxegen so we're off to a flying start. More so than Advert , who are having difficulties on the main stage. The singer's mic is off. It's pretty poor, but [...]

9 July, 2011 I signed up to cover 1234 Shoreditch Festival almost as soon as I arrived in London about a month ago. The fact that I had heard of only a tiny clutch of the artists playing didn't matter to me at all. I was in London now. There was stuff happening. I had to be a part of that stuff. I'm pleased to report that my unbridled enthusiasm for big-city life paid off in my favour: 1234 is a perfectly sexy little number - a lot of fun, and a lot of [...]

1234 It was barely over a week ago that I broke my Hyde Park duck with an Arcade Fire fronted festival. Lost in a sea of sixty thousand I won't be rushing back to repeat that evening of corporate whoredom… Today's event couldn't be worse than that, surely? Thankfully, the answer is a definite no. Shoreditch Park is in the East End, on the edge of not only the City's banking home but also, [...]
