18th Dye are playing in Portland tonight. It got me listening to this older song by them again called "Plumbing and Soon Forgetting," which I used to love! It's off the "Dive" 73 on Che (1993) and also on "The Noise And The Melodies" comp. I doubt they'll play it, but it would be really great if they did. 10 years ago, 18th Dye was at the forefront of the music world. With two full-length efforts under their belt, the Berlin-based rock group sported a record contract with Matador and toured with the likes of indie heavyweights Stereolab and Yo La Tengo. But a year later, the three-piece outfit of Sebastian Büttrich, Heike Rädeker, and Piet Bendtsen called it quits, choosing to move on to other ventures. But like so many others of our favorites bands who have a similiar history, 18th Dye is now ready to make its comeback. Technically, this actually occurred a [...]
hmmm, methinks blogspot is deleting posts it doesn't like. 4 days ago i posted a selection of songs, with direct links to mp3s, and now the post has gone (but you can still see it in hypemachine ). what gives? am i doing something wrong or is it for copyright reasons? oh well, if you want those songs, here's all of them zipped: fuck you blogspot.

here's a selection of songs that i thought i'd posted a couple of weeks ago but apparently never got round to. it's a selection of songs i was listening to at the time. i've moved a little since then, but i have to say i'm still loving the ra ra riot album, it's just perfection. ::: conor oberst - cape canaveral ::: 18th dye - can you wink? ::: robyn - jack u off ::: the wave pictures - i love you like a madman ::: [...]

I can't say I ever expected another album from the German/Danish based trio 18th Dye , considering they broke up roughly a decade ago. Back in the early to mid 90's the group of noise makers released a couple albums (1992's Done and 1995's magnificent A Tribute to a Bus ) and an EP (1995's Crayon ), all of which eventually made it to the USA thanks in part to Matador Records. Originally when the band [...]

18th Dye - Glass House Failure and Poolhouse Blue . While perusing through Steve Albini's impressive discogs page , I've stumbled upon a forgotten early indie crush, 18th Dye Tribute To A Bus (by crush I mean the music, not the girl pictured on the cover). After a split in 1999, they didn't wait to become Grandpas like some mammoth bands and reformed in 2005, so I can wait in line for their next album . ( buy it from gemm)
