Christiaan Felber The answer from many to the question posed by the title of The Vaccines' debut album What Did You Expect From The Vaccines was, "great things". That may have been overreaching - What Did You Expect was a solid bit of guitar rock that didn't necessarily pin them down in any one stylistic cul de sac, ranging from punky throwaways to stadium-ambition anthems - but there's no arguing they built up a pretty good head of steam on it before it all crashed to a halt [...]

Last week, 2:54 debuted a special cover version of Seal + Adamski’s 90s classic, “Killer”. Currently main support to the XX on their European comeback tour, they premiered the surprise track online, with Colette commenting: “There’s a nostalgia to ‘Killer’ that each member of the band identifies with. We grew up listening to Seal. ‘Kiss from a Rose’ and ‘Crazy’ are such big songs. We thought it would be interesting to re-work a pop song and put a 2:54 spin on it. The lyrics are really moving too; melancholic and tough. To me [...]

2:54 have just put up a cover of 'Killer' by Seal and Adamski, yes the 90's pop stars. They've pulled it off with great precision and have put their own spin on it with the dark guitars and equally amazing vocals! The U.K. band 2:54 (sisters Colette and Hannah Thurlow) released a very cool self-titled album earlier this year. The sisters just gave us another treat, a smoking cover of Killer , the song that was a hit for Seal back in 1991.

The Thurlow sisters put their own spin on the Seal cut " Killer " and its 2:54 at its very best. This would have been a lovely bonus track for the bands promising eponymous debut effort which is available now. Enjoy the slow moody-rocker in full.

In a world gone wild with all the socio-poltical-economic unrest you can handle; at least we can look beyond the former-first world problems for those kernels of musical inspiration from the week. After weeding through the hype about Chris Brown's controversial tattoo, the early 'leak' of Kanye's Cruel Summer comp or the fact that Blink-182 believe their best is still to come; we now look at what made our week more than worthwhile in no particular order. Tomorrow, Saturday, Se...

2:54 haben sich mit "Scarlett" in unsere Ohren Herzen geshoegazed und zählen zu den Neuentdeckungen 2012. Überzeugt Euch selbst, vielleicht hier mit dem Seal-Cover "Killer". [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]

After a classic remix this afternoon, here's a cover version by 2:54 of the 1990 Adamski/Seal track Killer. 2:54 are two sisters, originally from Ireland, but growing up in Bristol. The cover is a rather serious-faced moody, broody rock version. The lyrics have a yearning but the music is rather too straight-laced. A tad INXS. And here's Adamski's 21st Century Version, which also take a more electronic rock approach than is strictly seemly Blurb: 2:54 -sisters Hannah and Colette Thurlow- have debuted a special cover version of Seal and Adamski's Nineties classic, 'Killer'. 2:54 - Killer by 2:54 Band
If circa-2012 indie rock bands are never gonna survive unless they get a little crazy. Or in any case, maybe that's why London churners 2:54, one of Stereogum's 40 best new bands of 2012 , have covered " Killer ," the 1990 single with acid house producer Adamski that first put Seal on the map. Or maybe they're trying to get attention from supermodels. Or maybe, just maybe, they've covered the song because it's great and it fits nicely with their chilly brood. In any case, you should really listen to the 2:54 cover below. Read More...
2:54 have covered a song that soundtracked most of our youth - Adamski and Seal's '90s hit'Killer'

The 2:54 's debut album is certainly me 012 fave and will be devastatingly overlooked at the Mercury noms this evening. Sadness. Pour your misery down via the girls cover of KILLER plz .. Lovely.
