Following on from the success of his first two albums, the mighty 2562 is set to release his third LP, entitled 'Fever', next week. I'm sure you're all as impatient as I, so check out the promo copy below, via the lovely chaps at FACT . The album itself, as you'll hear below, is a blend of house, glitch and dubstep with lashings of IDM thrown in for good measure. Haagse dubstep / techno trots 2562 heeft de vaart er lekker in wat z'n releases betreft. Bracht hij z'n eerdere albums Aerial en Unbalance nog uit op het Engelse Tectonic , voor z'n derde langspeler kiest hij er voor om het heft in eigen hand te nemen. Na de Aquatic Family Affair 103 is zijn Fever album de tweede release op 25622s When in Doubt label. Fever, dat op 4 april zal verschijnen, belooft een album te zijn met een "702s/802s underground disco vibe", maar is natuurlijk wel overgoten met een dikke, plakkerige 2562 saus. [...]

Admittedly, this is not exactly disco, but every track on his upcoming album 'Fever' is apparently made out of disco samples. Does that qualify as a concept album? I don't know, but regardless of the category, I genuinely enjoy this snippet. For some unexplainable reason I get a very MCDE vibe from this, which is never a bad thing. Dave Huismans has certainly been a busy man. After last year's excellent Unbalance LP as 2562 he founded his own label A Made Up Sound as well as issued a one-off twelve as Blackout. Untethered by tempo and genre restrictions, Huismans injects loads of funk into kinetic tracks that detune and contort around technicolor synths and shattered beats. We caught up with Huismans to chat about his recent activity, the difference between his monikers, as well as some of his current favorites. Het programma van het TodaysArt festival begint aardig vorm te krijgen. In juni berichtten we al over de tot dan toe bekende line-up. Inmiddels zijn daar weer de nodige namen aan toe te voegen. Eén van de meest bijzondere nieuwe namen is die van X-102. Het samenwerkingsverband van Underground Resistance oprichters Jeff Mills, Mike Banks en Robert Hood. This double CD release offers a selection of highlights from the Multiverse studio's recent history. Leading the charge are both ‘Lion’ and ‘Pop Pop’ by Vex’d, records that formed the first bridge between classic British industrial music and dubstep, a fusion now championed by the likes of Surgeon, Distance and Milanese. Bristol dubstep mother-label Tectonic are releasing an anthology compilation featuring two CDs of their finest releases since 2004. The label plays host to some of the most influential names in the industrial side of dubstep including Joker, Vex'd, Pinch, 2562 and Loefah to name but a few. Through their publisher, Multiverse , the label has been at the forefront of the British dubstep scene and, together with Hyperdub , represent some of Britain's best young talent in dance music so I'd highly recommend this release to any dubsteppers or electronic music fans.
