( Self released ) With "Drone of Dume," N O W's Kevin Litrow (formerly of 60 Watt Kid) turns in a six-minute love letter to the restorative effects of the Southern California coastline. Over a looped drum machine beat and two repeated rec-room organ chords, Litrow sings of taking a glum friend to Point Dume, at which point things become slightly surreal. "The dolphin baptizes you/and releases all the pain/from the city," Litrow croons, and "Drone of Dume" becomes an "Under the Sea" for nature loving trippers. "Your eyes are [...]

N O W - dume drone Kevin, formally from 60 Watt Kid just sent this over to me. You know summer is coming by the way music starts to sound. The song from his new project N O W is light hearted and loving. The picture above maybe or may not be Kevin.

60 Watt Kid - Take the Pain Out of Your Chest
www.youtube.com/watch?v=hALO4b FOjtk "Take The Pain Out Of Your Chest" is from 60 Watt Kid's most recent album, We Come From The Bright Side . This tune's a heavy one, inspired by the passing of Kevin Litrow's mom, and when they play it live, Litrow usually convulses and throws himself into the audience's arms (figuratively if not literally). The video's not about his mom. Instead, it tells a story about an unhappy man with an unhappy family, who is suffocating in domesticity instead of rocking out with his band or surfing. It's perhaps a depressing way [...]
We haven't heard a lot from 60 Watt Kid in some time, but here's a brand new video from last year's We Come From the Bright Side on Absolutely Kosher . "Take the Pain Out of Your Chest" is one of many heavy numbers on the record, conveying the pain of familial loss.
"Take the Pain Out of Your Chest" is from 60 Watt Kid's album, We Come From The Bright Side , with video directed by Matt Amato. http://www.myspace.com/60wattk id

First single from 60 Watt Kid's new We Come From The Bright Side release. Harrowing. Exhausting. Absolutely magnificent.

The vibe is so chill and relaxed and seeing everyone hanging out, dancing, chilling on blankets, eating together and enjoy some amazing music in a free, open, public space has just been incredible. This Wednesday we have more free music and quite a variety of it. Our friends at Kogi BBQ will be there as always serving up the good stuff. : [...]

There is a lot going on in belles of the ball Big Whup—a lot of instruments, a lot of vocal acrobatics, a combination unicorn/Pegasus/microphone named Party!, some adorable hopping and dancing, etc.
Javelin brings sounds of familiarity, something you would find blasting out a car window along a main drag of Whittier Blvd or the most eastern park of Sunset. This feeling made the audience comfortable enough to dance and sway together in a converted warehouse off Beverly Blvd. full of strangers, as we imagined the sun hitting our shoulders.
