65daysofstatic (also known by the abbreviations 65dos, 65days, or simply 65) are an instrumental post-rock and math rock band from Sheffield, England comprising Paul Wolinski, Joe Shrewsbury, Rob Jones and Simon Wright. The band has released five studio albums: The Fall of Math, One Time for All Time, The Destruction of Small Ideas, We Were Exploding Anyway, and Silent Running Initially, the band interspersed heavy, progressive, guitar-driven instrumental sections with live drums and off-beat sampled drums akin to those of Aphex Twin, although since their second album they have developed their work to include keyboard parts.

Because people's music tastes differ, and not everyone likes Kenny G (if they don't, they're dumb), I've compiled a collection of the best ambient/instrumental Holiday music I could, and put it into a nice little package for you. I'm just going to keep adding more songs to the list every year, so if you want to be included in the 2012 edition (which may not even happen, on the off chance the Mayans were right), start making songs. As for right now, our list includes: "Just For Now"- Imogen Heap "I'm Dreaming of a [...]

So we would normally have our new releases out this week on Tuesday, but the new releases this time of year are few and far between. We decided to compile some tracks for your listening pleasure as you hang with family and friends around the tree, or cuddling up with your significant other in front of the yule log. Props to Vague Space for making our job pretty easy, by hosting some rad Christmas flavored tracks. Cheers. The Raveonettes; Christmas Song [...]

Polinski - Labyrinths By Ben Dufton Polinski is Paul Wolinski of 65daysofstatic fame's solo project and Labyrinths is his debut album. Wow. That was my first impression - the sentiment that passed through my head at various points throughout my first listen. When it finished, I simply pressed play again. And again. '1985-quest' rather neatly sets the scene, with its classic synthesiser sounds bringing to mind film scores from those early years. If it were not for [...]

Guitar rockers making mind-bending electro — "Stitches," the first single from the Polinski album "Labyrinths," features two of them. Polinski is the nom de tune of Paul Wolinski of U.K. math-rockers 65daysofstatic , and the phased vocals on the track belong to Jonathan Bates, the Mellowdrone main man whose own foray into electro, as Big Black Delta , has yielded big, beautiful noise. The video, made by brothers Caspar and Josiah Newbolt with art by John De Lucca, plays out as a cool text-based game. The album will be out on Monotreme Records . [...]
Polinksi is Paul Wolinski from 65daysofstatic, and this is the beautiful video for his track 'Stiches' featuring Big Black Delta . The retro future Spectrum/C64 feel work perfectly with the eclectic ElectroPop (although sometimes the graphics are a little too good!). Polinksi's album, 'Labyrinths', is out31st October. It's going to be an exciting few weeks for 65daysofstatic ( facebook / twitter ) fans, that's for sure. There is a new song available for free download (below); 'Burial Scene' is piano-driven and breathtakingly beautiful, sounding a bit like a lost song from the sessions for 'The Destruction of Small Ideas'. It's suitably cinematic, and indeed, it's taken from their film score for 'Silent Running', which arrives on November 14th. Burial Scene by 65daysofstatic Before that, though Paul Wolinski is unleashing his debut solo album under [...]

Recent crime-solving video games like L.A. Noire have seen grand success with their intricate story-lines and highly detailed, modern graphics. Electro rocker Polinski , aka the side-project of 65daysofstatic frontman Paul Wolinski, hasn't forgotten the granddaddies of games like that, though, and with his new video for "Stitches" (featuring Big Black Delta), he's crafted them one incredible homage. Forgoing all the bells and whistles of current technology, Polinski, along with director/writer Caspar Newbolt and director/animator Josiah Newbolt (some relation), gives us an old-school text adventure detective story. Murdered dames, [...]

The oh-so-epic 65daysofstatic collaborates with the oh-so-awesome Robert Smith of The Cure. The track "Come To Me" will be featured on the post-rock group's upcoming release We Were Exploding Anyway. The song is actually pretty straight forward and rock-driven than most of their recent stuff, but epic nonetheless. Listen below. 65Daysofstatic - "Come To Me [...]
