It is no secret that The Deloreans are one of our favorite bands. Period. Not just local or from Kentucky. Favorite bands. As such, it makes us very happy to be able to share with you the release of their new song "Dandelion." For sensory overload, we've got the digital info for you, the music video (an 8-millimeter music-video dir ected by Philadelphia filmmaker Chad Blevins), and a link for you to go buy it on a limited green-vinyl 73. Let's get right to it. Here is the video: [...]

I may have to take action (read: get my lazy kiester off the couch) to lay hands on Rooftop Shake , the upcoming record from NYC's Metermaids . Last week we shared their paean working stiff vampires , and hot on the heals of that track, we have the new video for 8mm . The duo is promising numerous live dates this fall, but as of this time, all we know for sure is they'll be opening for Sage Francis' in Portland on September 21st and [...]
Hear The Track Here****** if I know whats going on up there in the English Midlands, but by God it's throwing up some interesting musical combinations from the balls to the wall rock of Bayn, the majesty of Hhymn, the folky style of Wwolves. A never ending stream. 8mm Orchestra are, in case you haven't guessed already, from Nottingham and I am hard pressed to describe exactly what they do - but

Beautifully process piece by James Miller on converting 8MM film using a Canon 5D MKII. You could pretty much randomly select any frame from this and have a frame-able print. More videos and some results in the source links. This is just a little bit mesmerizing as well. Well, spike my eggnog. Here are three more holiday tunes — one sultry, one sarcastic and one spunky — from L.A. people getting into the spirit of the season. One of our favorite L.A. husband-and-wife duos, Sean and Juliette Beavan (who released their "Love and the Apocalypse" EP earlier this year ), have a holiday EP of jazzy pop songs titled "On a Silent Night." 8mm has released their new EP, Love and The Apocalypse and they sound better than ever! Extended play - Arts - Music - Religion and Spirituality - Romance

Following several years engineering and mixing for Nine Inch Nails , Sean Beavan formed trip-hop act 8mm along with wife Juliette. He had spent time in the studio in New Orleans with NIN's Trent Reznor, working on such NIN recordings as The Downward Spiral . While in New Orleans, he met his future wife and the two relocated to Los Angeles. While producing a record for Kill Hannah , Sean brought in Juliette to add some vocals and liked her voice enough to form 8mm along with drummer Jon Nicholson. An EP in 2004 was followed by [...]

The heat is still unbearable and my brain has yet to recover from Wednesday's short circuit . Have you watched the Northern Portrait video I posted earlier today ? If not; what exactly are you waiting for? The great Tap Tap gives away a brilliant new track called Dry Dry Land , which is " all about Portugal ". + Dry Dry Land New track [...]

When Sean Beaven isn't in the studio making Really Big Rock Records (his credits include Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, System of a Down and Guns N' Roses), he's teaming up with his significant other on significantly another kind of music. The husband-wife torch-pop of 8mm features the sultry vocals of his wife, Juliette, who vamps a little, aches a little and seduces a whole lot. Their new EP "Love and the Apocalypse" is less gauzy than the pair's debut full-length, 2006's "Songs to Love and Die By;" the haziness is all emotional, with Juliette cooing [...]

"The devil hears you when you cry." 8mm ~ Angel from Songs To Love and Die By... by 8mm
When a band attempts to capitalize on the sex appeal of their lead singer, it doesn't usually bode well for the quality of their music. But there are definite exceptions. The Jennifer Charles... **Click on the link to read the full post, download mp3s, and comment.**

This is a band that I've been holding onto for awhile now. 8mm is husband - wife combo Sean and Juliette Beavan from Los Angeles CA. Songs to Love & Die By is their debut album and is simply beautiful. The album really is filled with songs to love and die by. It's a combination of somber and seductive love songs that slip into your head and fill you with emotion. Sean is no newbie to the music industry. He has mixed/produced records by Nine Inch Nails, No Doubt, Thrice, and Marilyn Manson to name a [...]
