After much news about A Fine Frenzy 's new album, tour dates supporting the record have finally been announced. This means Alison Sudol will be heading all over the country starting at the end of October to bring her new songs to various stages, including the Gramercy Theatre in New York City on October 28. It's not news that I may have a passing fancy for Alison Sudol , so I went into the listening process with high hopes. And let me tell you, the love affair must be over, because when it comes to sophomore albums by unabashedly pop artists, A Fine Frenzy lives up to the stereotype of overdoing it and making it suck. I blame it on the fact that she threw off pensive ballads and piano tracks for upbeat, dancy tracks that sound like they were written by someone who's good at, well... pensive ballads [...]

I was off being irresponsible in other countries again, so someone's gonna have to catch me up on what came out in the last couple weeks. This week's biggest offering is a remastered 17-disc box set of Beatles albums. Tempting. My uncle gave me A Fine Frenzy's CD "One Cell In The Sea" the day before Christmas Eve 2007.
