Last time I covered five albums worth listening to that probably didn't quite make your top 50. It has come to my attention that 'worth another listen' isn't the most apt title - a lot of you may be listening to these artists for the first time. That said, I don't think it is quite worth a change of title, if only because I can't think of anything much better. On to the albums. I feel a little redundant, but Glass Rock is another band I've already covered . As [...]

A Great Big Pile of Leaves is an three-piece indie rock band from Brooklyn who have been quietly making a name for themselves. After releasing 2 EPs(both of which have been downloaded over 6,000 times) the band put out their full length Have You Seen My Prefontal Cortex? to rave reviews. Now the band is set to reach a bigger audience when they tour with Say Anything,Motion City Soundtrack and Saves The Day this fall. I had the chance to speak with drummer Tyler Soucy, bassist Tucker Yaro and guitarist/vocalist Pete Weiland about the band's formation, latest album and [...]

It has come to my attention that some people may find 1400+ word posts a little hard to get through. I'd be very glad to receive some feedback on that point in the comments, but for the time being I'll assume that there is some legitimacy to the claim. As a result, this post is going to be my attempt at a speed post: I'll brief the general idea and each artist, but leave it up to you to listen to the individual songs, and try to be a little more succinct with my writing. That said, jazz [...]

Lots to talk about this week, so let's get right to it. This week's flagship album may just be Tokyo Police Club . Their album is absolutely top-notch and we give our highest recommendation. A few surprises before we get into some of the more talked about groups. A Great Big Pile Of Leaves is offering their mellow, yet pulsating album The Firey Works free on their website . After one listen through, I already have a few favorites. If you're looking for some wonderful shoegaze, we recommend Christopher Bissonnette's [...]
