Railbenders Play Safari Sam's Tonight There's about eight places I wouldn't mind being tonight..... Tivo Alert: Rilo Kiley on Jimmy Kimmel; Dinosaur Jr. on Conan O'Brien Wednesday Night's Picks: Railbenders @ Safari Sam's ($5) – These guys really surprised me at Stagecoach this year. They're super tight cow-punks from Denver who play much faster in person than their Myspace page would lead you to believe. [...]

I've admitted in the past and I'll admit it right now... If you have album artwork that catches my attention like A Shoreline Dreams did, I will listen to your music and I will b extremely happy when I end up liking it like I do now. I apologize for the run on sentences, it's just what I do. I first heard of A Shoreline Dream around the time they released their first album voiding The Consequences which had some good tracks on it. Their COASTAL EP that came out in the [...]

Few bands are fortunate enough to have the musical ability to capture a mood that really grabs you with distinct originality and passion. A Shoreline Dream seems to have the talent in all the right places to do so. The serene shoegaze quartet from Denver present their album art and official web site like it's some upcoming psychedelic movie, casting the four in their respectable musical positions. If the songs were actually revolving around a movie, they would have the right idea, as the band has key instinct on capturing atmosphere and emotion. The tracks on their debut [...]

I have all sorts of good music that's been sent to me or already written upon by influential types that I've been enjoying... Amrit and all those cool NYC tastemakers have been up on Takka Takka for quite a while, but I like to let things filter down sometimes to see if it lives past the hype, so I'm just now checking [...]

I started off my day ending most of my words in -tastic with a friend as a joke, but after I listened to this album that Filter sent me... all I can say is that A Shoreline Dream are fanfuckmazetasticly good. And that's no joke. I thought the greatness of shoegaze had gone lost, but it's nice to see such a solid band bringing it back to life. So far I've only given the album one listen, but I'm already in love. Definitely recommended for fans of My Bloody Valentine, Starflyer 59, Low, Ride, [...]

I've gotten a whole bunch of new music to listen to lately, but by far Avoiding The Consequences , by A Shoreline Dream is certainly the most unique. As the post title suggests, upon first listen the album seems to be a guitar laden ambient/techno/electronic album, but it's not. Or should I say that not all of it is? Or should I say it's masquerading as one? Or should I admit I don't know what I'm talking about? What does the group say about itself? [...]
Troika - Exploded Monologues (2003) Exploded Monologues is a device that spatially transports the origin of the artist's voice to various speakers held at a distances from the mouth. The artist is able to control which speaker outputs his vocalizations, kind of like a personal surround sound system. He is able to obsess over controling the audio he exports to others and the way they experience it... kind of like music blogging. [...]

I've been getting a lot of random Mp3s in the mail/email lately. I don't feel like writing today so here's most of the ones that were pretty catchy to me. If you find any of these interesting then let me know in the comments and i'll expand on them for you. Enjoy. Ennui | "Cry" - This EP was pretty good Funky Nashville | "Hitch a Ride" - Two words that should never be used to name a band. [...]

As stated in their bio on their label's site, A Shoreline Dream started as a visual concept which could be translated into an audible source. I'll give you a second to think about that, to think about 'what bright glows of light would sound like' or 'what color could sound like'. Have you got it yet? Try to imagine what both of those would sound like in harmony and your halfway there. Love Is A Ghost In America wraps the listener in such lush and thick sounds that its almost easy to completely [...]
