Ah, two new remixes of Aaliyah 's 'Rock The Boat' came out this year. Isn't this a wonderful world we live in? They're both fantastic, not sure which one to choose. All Summer, I've loved ColeCo 's version, off their deliciously free 'El Verano' EP . Unfortunately I missed the boat on sharing it with you all. Shame! The next one comes via Germany's onwn Satin Jackets , and it's dubbed ' Aaliyah 's [...]
I don't know if we've ever posted anything from Satin Jacket's on this site. But if we haven't, I sincerely apologize. Something like that is totally inexcusable. We've been following Satin Jackets for a while now, so I honestly don't know how none of his tracks have made it onto this site. To make up for this abomination, I've decided to share with you his latest rework of Aaliyah's single "Rock The Boat," which is aptly renamed "Aaliyah's Boat." Actually, I'd probably classify this song as more of an original, because like the lads over at French Express, he only really [...]

Drake wasn't kidding: A new Aaliyah album is due in 2013, according to her label. Barry Hankseron, CEO of Blackground Records and Aaliyah's uncle, tweeted new details on Wednesday (Aug. 29), including the album's cover art. The blue-gray image features a female figure surfacing from under water, with Aaliyah gazing out from a monogram of two As. " Aaliyah 16 unreleased tracks 2013 stay tuned " Enough said " # TeamAaliyah twitter.com/BarryHankerson… [...]

The eerily beatiful artwork for Aaliyah's posthumous album was revealed on Twitter by Barry Hankerson of Blackground records. Earlier this month, Jomo Hankerson, Aaliyah's cousin who runs Blackground with his father Barry Hankerson , has stated the reason for the release of a new project to Billboard. "We really felt like it was time. There's a real new generation that doesn't know her necessarily, and we wanted to continue her musical legacy with this new generation," explains Hankerson. "That's one of [...]

Maybe it says more about how terrible R&B has gotten than about how great it used to be, but lately, I've actually found myself sort of nostalgic for '00s soul. Not so much the R&B stars of the aughts who are still putting out the hits (or trying to), but the ones who aren't, the supernovas who flickered brightly but relatively briefly: Ashanti, Christina Milian (whom I just saw a couple of nights ago doing God knows what on The Voice ) and Destiny's Child. Though solo Beyonce has her moments, there was nothing quite like [...]

Drake and his producer 40 have been working on a project featuring Aaliyah which has caused a large buzz in the hip hop sphere stemming from Timbaland and Missy Elliot being left out. It’s caused quite the buzz and with the anniversary of Aaliyah’s passing a few days back Shlohmo released this tribute remix in honor of the R&B legend, “Enough Said.” Download: Aaliyah feat. Drake - Enough Said (Shlohmo Remix)

Aaliyah feat. 8/25 marked the day Aaliyah was taken away too soon. In celebration of her life, 2 re-worked Aaliyah tracks surfaced. Producer, Question, gives "Rock The Boat" a more 90's hip hop feel while Shlohmo delivers a chopped and screwed version of the Drake assisted "Enough Said". Both worth checking out. Late R&B singer Aaliyah recently had the 'Drake treatment' on a new track called 'Enough Said', which caused quite a lot of controversy. However, the Shlomo remix of the track is stunning (obviously), and you can hear it below. The original can be heard here:

Shlohmo dropped a dope new remix for the single called Enough Said in honor of Aaliyah's 11th death anniversary. Shlohmo chopped, screwed and slowed down the Drake-assisted single which will be featured on the highly anticipated album by none other than Aaliyah. Strean the single through Soundcloud down below, snatch a free download of Shlohmo's latest remix by clicking here , enjoy.
In honor of the 11th anniversary of Aaliyah 's premature passing, Shlohmo offers up this remix of the late singer's divisive "new" single with Drake "Enough Said." Some fans still believe this song shouldn't even exist, but to Shlohmo's credit, his remix somewhat appropriately sounds like a transmission from an astral plane from the beyond. The ghostly treatment of Aaliyah's vocals hits too close to home at some points, but we're brought back to reality when we find that [...]

Less depressing than seeing the continued on & off worldly image of a young mother/father smoking around their young toddler/child whilst it’s still sitting in their push-pram or buggy.. L.A.’s Shlohmo’s slo-mo’s and time stretches the vocal & production harmonies of Aaliyah, LOL Boys and Drake down to a life-changing tee, and works up his own Originals into a distinctive, moody terrain poured over with chemical atmospheric tones and prestigiously written beats. L.A. made subtle energy, which is strictly not for the faint hearted. Tracklisting for Shlohmo’s Mix on Gilles Peterson’s BBC [...]

Yesterday marked the 11th anniversary of Aaliyah 's unfortunate passing. As a perceived tribute to the late artist, Los Angeles-based producer Shlohmo put his decelerated signature spin on the recent Drake and Noah "403 Shebib-assisted track, "Enough Said." Stream the remix below and grab a free download of it here . THE 10 BEST SHLOHMO REMIXES

Cousin Cole flips a sample from the new Aaliyah track and makes some beautiful music. He prefers the "Night" mix. Which is your favorite?
In case you weren't aware, it's the eleventh anniversary of Aaliyah's tragic death. And to honor her life, Shlohmo has put together his own moody remix of her posthumous single, the Drake-featured " Enough Said ". Say what you want about the track itself, but the Bay Area producer's take on it is nothing short of beautiful. You can stream and download it below. Earlier today, Henry Laufer let go of his washed out version of Aaliyah and Drake 's "Enough Said." The result is a "chopped and screwed" translation of Aaliyah's posthumous single, which adheres that that slow-mo aesthetic Laufer has been fooling with for the past little while. Basically me and my Wedidit brethren have been fucking around recently slowing down big room house tunes and old d&b and '90s vocal house shit real, real slow. Like taking 160 BPM d&b tunes and screwing them down half speed to 80. Then we realized you could [...]
Today, August 25th 2012 marks the 11th anniversary of the tragic untimely death of R&B singer Aaliyah . In celebration of the life and musical career of Aaliyah Dana Haughton, production duo Urban Noize decided to pay homage to the fallen star by re-imagining one of Aaliyah's most notable hits "One In A Million", taken from the singer's 1996 album of the same name. The funny thing about this remix is that it just happened. Nothing planned at all. Just cut on FL Studios and wanted to do something different. Something challenge. And The [...]
