I decided to quit L.A. RECORD a couple weeks ago. I was exhausted, unable to deal with the deadlines, the endless shows, the flash-in-the-pan bands; I couldn't even sit in my chair or use my desk, because every square inch of my bedroom was covered in press releases and CDs that would crackle under my feet like Temple of Doom insects if I so much as moved. Sadly I missed out on what probably would have been one of my favorite local bands - by the time I caught on to the greatness that was Imaginary Baseball League, the group had already broken up. Fortunately, however, a little over a year and a half ago a friend took me to see Aaron Robinson , the former frontman of IBL, play a solo show at the Basement and I was completely blown away. After playing in another band that has since broken up as well, Aaron has [...]
