I am finally able to continue this feature after a extended break. My computer was in the shop and I've taken my time getting everything set up again, so this week was the first one I've been able to really add new music to my library. Anyways, on with the post. Our music library may be vast, but we've never claimed to be completists here at Cover Lay Down. There's always something missed or previously unheard, and always something new, too, released just in time to taunt us in the aftermath of a topical post. Serendipitous addenda come from fellow bloggers, readers, labels, artists and library visits into our welcoming ears and hands. La differenza tra interpretazione e cover non è ben definita: in genere quando un musicista interpreta un brano considerato un classico della musica eseguito innumerevoli volte si esita ad usare il termine cover (si parla [...]
It's been a little while since we had a strictly thematic post, so here we are with streets, both specific and general. I Can Make a Mess Like Nobody's Business - Positively 4th Street (Bob Dylan) The organ-fueled rant of the vitriolic original has been taken down to a light folk-rock take that, though the sound seems superficial, keeps the fury intact in a more passive-aggressive mode. Probably a bad choice to start this set with though, as other than the title the song actually has nothing to do with [...]
