The Canadian indie-pop collective , who in the past have made some pretty inventive videos, outdid themselves with the clip for Move. The New Pornographers got a comedic makeover…literally. In the new video for "Moves," directed by Tom Scharpling, best known for his work on WFMU's "The Best Show" and USA's "Monk," we see a graphic reenactment of the New Pornographer's rise to fame – it goes without saying, but it's hilarious. The band approached Scharpling, as adoring fans, to direct their new video asking that he feature the band more – a different approach from their past music videos. "Moves," the New Pornographers newest music video, off of Together , features an all-out ensemble that's worth watching again and again, even if the song does sound a little like Weezer's "Sweater Song." Paul Rudd, Bill Hader, Horatio Sanz, Donald Glover, John Oliver, Wyatt Cenac, John Hodgman, a cross-dressing Ted Leo, and an Independent Spirit Award nominated performance from Kevin Corrigan as Dan Bejar. As one of many New Pornographers with a fairly regular output all of his own, Dan Bejar 's solo outings in Destroyer don't necessarily stand out as much as they would if he were the only member moonlighting. Even so, it's been a good couple of years since A.C. Newman and Neko Case went toe-to-toe with impressive individual efforts, so the people are most likely ready for another chapter. [...]

The name of Okkervil River's new tune is "Wake and be Fine" from the forthcoming album, "I Am Very Far", to be released May 10th, presumably by Jagjaguwar . The release comes in time for the summer concert season and the billion music festivals that seem to be sprouting up everywhere. Watch out for the New Pornographer, A.C. Newman, in the video.
