THE WEEKLY INJECTION: New Releases from ORCHID, A PALE HORSE NAMED DEATH, and More Out Today 5/21

ZED - Please - Music Video
I had a hell of a time getting to sleep last night. I just say The Dillinger Escape Plan for the first time. Holy hell, what a show?! I wasn't even in the pit and my body is sore. I just kept hearing the echo of awkward guitar chords played at time-signature-optional intervals. I'm still ... Metal Musicians Remember Former Iron Maiden Drummer Clive Burr

Desperado - Woodstock Rehearsal
Past and present members of Slayer, Anthrax, Megadeth, Machine Head, Judas Priest, Guns N' Roses, Rage Against the Machine and more react to the loss of a titan.

Listen to Puscifer Cover “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Balls to the Wall”

One is a straight-forward cover and the other one isn't, but they're both hella fun.

SHOW REVIEW: ACCEPT AND KREATOR ALLOW FANS TO INDULGE THEIR INNER EPIC GERMAN

Another night, another show at the Palladium. I’ve said pretty much all I can say about this particular venue several times over so… nope. Can’t move on. Palladium, turn on the air, tell your security people to stop being dicks, and mop the floor every once in a while. You make going to shows an [...]

Bloodstock Open Air announces Accept, Fozzy and Firewind for 2013 line-up

Not much to add beyond the obvious - Bloodstock Open Air has today confirmed Accept, Fozzy and Firewind for their 2013 festival. The trio join the previously-announced Anthrax on the bill over at Catton Hall, which in 2013 takes place on the weekend of 08-11 August. Early Bird Weekend Tickets are on sale now for the bargain price of £100, so if you want to save a few quid for Bloodstock's infamous ale bar, now would be a good time to cough up some cash.

Accept – Stalingrad

Accept – Stalingrad Accept - Stalingrad ( Nuclear Blast ) To admit to liking the German heavy metal band Accept requires an understanding that you’ll always end up defending the ridiculous video for the band’s biggest stateside song, 1983’s “Balls To The Wall.” If the image of a short, chubby vocalist with short-cropped blonde hair and a penchant for camouflage isn’t enough to put your infatuation through easy ridicule, then the image of a dummy version of Udo Dirkschneider actually riding a wrecking ball as it slams into a fake wall of [...]

NEILSTEIN SOUNDSCAM: SHLOCK OF AGES

The lesson of this week's Neilstein Soundscam is that no matter how old something is, how many times it's been re-released and re-packaged or how badly it's been re-recorded, if a song was popular once there's always going to be people willing to shell out for it again. Especially if it's in the movies (or [...]

3 INCHES OF BLOOD's Cam Pipes' 5 Favorite Vocalists

Iron Maiden - Aces High (Live After Death) [HD]
Being one of the best vocalists in metal, we asked 3 Inches of Blood frontman, Cam Pipes to compile a list of his favorite vocalists. Here's what he sent over: "It should be noted that these are listed in no particular order as I can't pick a favorite nor can I rank any of them ...

KREATOR & ACCEPT Team Up For Co-Headlining Tour with SWALLOW THE SUN

Two German heavy metal heavyweights are teaming up for a massive North American tour. Kreator and Accept will co-headline what they are calling the "Teutonic Terror Attack" tour. Swallow The Sun are confirmed to open the entire tour. MetalSucks reports local advertising showing that Ringworm is opening the tour, but there is no official confirmation ...

KREATOR, ACCEPT, SWALLOW THE SUN AND RINGWORM TOUR DATES ANNOUNCED

After a promoter in Cleveland, OH spilled the beans yesterday, the organizers of the fall U.S. tour with Kreator, Accept, Swallow the Sun and Ringworm have done the only logical thing they can: they've gone ahead and announced the whole darn tour. The trek kicks off September 5th in Washington D.C., works its way left [...]

KREATOR TO TOUR WITH ACCEPT, SWALLOW THE SUN, AND RINGWORM?

There's been a kind of bizarre trend as of late of local venues basically spoiling entire tour announcements by releasing info regarding their own date for said trek too soon. For better or worse, the latest perpetrator in this trend is Peabody's in Cleveland, Ohio, who posted the below photo on Facebook for a show [...]

NEILSTEIN SOUNDSCAM: GOING INTO THE WAR OF AGES WITH A TORCHE AND A PRONG

There weren't any major heavy hitters with new albums last week, but there were plenty of great, new releases from mid-level and smaller bands including Torche, Prong, Anathema, Paradise Lost, Cancer Bats, Unleashed and Disfiguring the Goddess, all of which broke the Top 100 of the Current Hard Music chart. Those numbers, plus more: 8 [...]

NEILSTEIN SOUNDSCAM: SLAVE TO THE DEMONOCRACY

Apologies for the lateness of the column this week; the MS Mansion Monkey who's usually in charge of sending me the weekly Soundscan numbers went on a banana-eating binge Tuesday night and is only just now recovering from two solid days of vomiting and explosive diarrhea. But fear not, because there a ton of big [...]

New Music Monday: Bonnie Raitt, Curtis Salgado, Kenny Garrett and OHMphrey

ace frehley,anomaly - sister
Rock, blues, crazy solo Kiss weirdness, even heavier stuff, some smoking jazz, it's all there for you this week - topped by new music offerings from Bonnie Raitt, Curtis Salgado, Darius Jones, Jeff Loomis, Kenny Garrett and OHMphrey. As for notable reissues and smoking live dates, dig into Ace Frehley (get into the New York groove!), Alice Cooper, John Oates, [...]

Album: Accept – Stalingrad

ACCEPT - Stalingrad (Song)
Accept Stalingrad Nuclear Blast 06 April 2012 by Tom Dare When German more-metal-than-all veterans,  Accept , came back with their first album in 14 years in 2010, there was plenty of celebrating a spectacular comeback. There was also plenty of commentary about how immensely metal Accept are, to the point it's become a cliché. What's been perhaps slightly overlooked by some – and should be no longer – is how brilliant this band actually are. [...]

ACCEPT THAT NEW ACCEPT IS AS GOOD AS OLD ACCEPT

ACCEPT - Stalingrad (Song)
Accept surprised pretty much everyone with 20102s stellar comeback album Blood For the Nations. I was skeptical that Accept could be any good with anyone other than Udo Dirkschneider, but new vocalist Mark Tornillo (ex-TT Quick*) blew us all out of the water while underscoring the fact that the rest of the band, not Udo, [...]
