Taking a page from the Kiss playbook, AC/DC have been doing everything they can to put their name on a slew of products. Now the Australian rockers are teaming up with NSW-based winery Warburn Estate to release an AC/DC wine collection nationwide. Among the varieties of wines to be released will be Back In Black Shiraz, Highway To Hell Cabernet Sauvignon and You Shook Me All Night Long Moscato. No exact date was announced for the nationwide rollout of the wine.
You'll recall AC/DC's argument about not going on iTunes because it focuses on singles and doesn't represent them musically . A clear stance, one which might be wrong, but at least admirable. Oddly, though, the band seems quite happy that bottles of wine named after their singles does "represent them musically". So, AC/DC fans - you can't just buy the singles you want. Unlesss you buy them in the form of wine. -- Visit No Rock & Roll Fun to comment, complain and kvetch

AC/DC and Metallica are similar in a lot of ways: their creative heyday is behind them, for example, and they, too, have a massive fan base with enough stupid people who will buy anything with their logo on it to ensure that they will never go hungry. But AC/DC are also different from Metallica in [...]

BY NICK SPACEK More than 10 years ago, on the eve of my 21st birthday, I saw another configuration of Kansas City musicians get together to play AC/DC covers at El Torreon. In a bit of synchronicity that displays the depth of love for the Aussie band's music, quite a few of the same players were onstage again on Sunday night.… [ Read more ] [ [...]

Rival Sons is a band that isn't playing around when it plays. Pressure And Time (Earache), their second studio album is some serious 702s-style hard rock that brings to mind Led Zeppelin, Foghat and even a bit of Ram Jam a la their "Black Betty" cover fame. They've opened for AC/DC, Alice Cooper, Kid Rock and other older, hard rock acts. Without question, Rival Sons is one opening band that can close the deal and become its own headliner. There is a palpable commitment with them to pull out some rock from its proper roots - the manlier [...]

Van Halen floundered with Sammy Hagar and embarrassed with Gary Cherone. The Dead Kennedys play shows without Jello Biafra but will never replicate the magic of the '80s.
