It is incredible to see how far the steam train that is Alt-J has travelled since we interviewed them almost a year ago. When they find time between picking up awards and performing gigs across the world, they can reflect back at some fantastic remixes taking advantage of the beautiful subtleties that may not have [...] The post Alt-J serve up new remixes appeared first on Cougar Microbes .
![[REMIX] Alt-J – “Breezeblocks” (Acid Invaders Remix)](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4885698_lg.jpg)
i love you so, i love you so Ok, fine. I'l give you another remix . Just beware, this one goes to a dark place. Just follow it. There is definitely a strobe light at the end of this tunnel. Best rework of Alt-J I've heard.
It's Saturday, so it's time for Shorthanded Goals. Shorthanded Goals is a feature that melds the best of both worlds. More artists wanting to catch your eyes and ears and hearts – whether they be free giveaways from albums I’ve already covered, or free tracks sent to me that I cannot dedicate the necessary time to listen to from bands/readers/whomever, or maybe even the usual PR and label goodies that arrive on the regular. Sometimes it's album tracks I love but I didn't include in past write-ups. They are all great tracks looking [...]
Photography: wildorange55 Yet another Breezeblocks remix, but I can't dislike anything that carries over the original's brilliance. This is a kind of monotone one, but the pacing and momentum are so spot on that it makes and not breaks the track. Alt-J - Breezeblocks (Acid Invaders Remix) Alt-J | Acid Invaders

The too cool Acid Invaders are back from their tour long enough to produce their new one for 2013. And it's a remix of Alt-J (they're popular, right?). Free download. Strange beast this. And a curious choice. The original is straight up rock. Not the most obvious thing to remix. What do Acid Invaders do? They let the remix drive by on a menacing bass line, a bit of Kraftwerk synths and those nasal lyrics. Even a bit of Peter Hook-alike bass guitar. No acid here but an interesting leftfield dance track. Youtube : [...]

If you're going to mess with one of the best songs of the year , you better have something good in store. Fans of the original might be a little taken aback by this remix, but Acid Invaders flip Alt-J 's quirky "Breezeblocks" on its head and send a surge of electricity through the track, turning it into an almost unrecognizable piece of dancefloor-ready pop. It's an unlikely fit, but it works.

Suddenly I feel like letting my comb-over down. The Saturday night routine hasn't slowly morphed into something entirely different it has instead catastrophically fallen off a cliff and smashed onto the jagged rocks below. All down to the loveable hugger mites and wouldn't have it any other way. For the foreseeable this won't be changing but now and then gaps do appear and drink inspired antics are given a good seeing too. It is at moments like this that I turn back the clock to the sounds of yesteryear or to the ones that purport to be from there. Pretty [...]

Acid Invaders are back with an hour long mixtape for you to listen and free download. With tracks entitled Acid and Body Acid , can you guess what it's going to sound like? The mix largely eschews Acid Invaders' poppy leanings and is one aimed squarely at clubs, with its spartan acid sounds. It starts with Acid Invaders' own " NOW! " track, of which I said previously that it " has their signature nu-acid sound, complete with a downright filthy techno bass line and some acid squiggles ." The mix also includes Fantastic Diversion [...]

One of the most preeminent places in the world that’s emanating an 11-track stance of superlative standards is Brussels in Belgium. The trio of Acid Invaders refuse to falter for a moment as their opener ‘Acid Invaders’ brings home to roost the acid-heaven tale in ‘Rave On Kids,’ their funk-tified version of ‘Innovation, ’ the Chemical Brothers & Skrillex type ode of ‘You Should Have Known Better,’ plus the rhythmic-dynamic dialogue that always puts Cyberdog to shame in ‘Maffia Never Sleeps’ + ‘Whatever.’ (Now that’s a power-beast right there!) The track ‘Change’ nods its head in the direction of authentic acid [...]

The Acid Invaders who hail from Brussels in Belgium quite justly deserve a whole new category awarded onto them. Kicking off a right n’ proper medley with ‘NOW!’ that sounds like The Chemical Brothers on even more acid than they are on already, we soon get to unravel their takes on LCD Soundsystem and Foster The People. A rare Kevin Saunderson remix of Acid Invaders transforms their own production called ‘Change’ into rapturous housey-applause, so it doesn’t get any better than this. ACID INVADERS – NOW! FOSTER [...]

As seemingly bonkers as the whole non-fictional idea of Afrojack and Paris Hilton being a couple and Miss Hilton now wanting to DJ behind an actively live booth.. sanity & full heartedness returns to the fold in transparent abundance via Fu*** Offf , Morgan Page , Revolvr , Acid Invaders & Owen Replay , Togglehead , Vato Gonzalez , Religion and Savoy . Thank the lucky stars that this world that we’re living in is not the twilight zone. Or maybe it is after finding out that tidbit of [...]

The Acid Invaders fire up the aural firmament with their debut self-titled album, “Acid Invaders” due out on Introduce Records in April 2nd. Fusing dubstep influences with ravey synths, funky acid basslines to hardcore techno beats, ‘The Acid Invaders’ unleash a powerhouse of techno house tracks on their riveting debut, which includes their singles “Rave On Kids” (now out on promo in re-rubbed 2012 style) and “Change”, which counts Kevin Saunderson amongst its fans and behind the stunning Remix at the end of last year. Acid Invaders - NOW! [...]

I've been featuring Belgian band Acid Invaders' work on this blog for about 18 months, since their classic Rave On Kids release in October 2010. They're now releasing their eponymous LP next week. And to mark the release there's a new track for free download. NOW! has their signature nu-acid sound, complete with a downright filthy techno bass line and some acid squiggles. But somehow, and goodness alone knows how, this still has enough jump around fun to be a pop tune as well. Look out for the LP. Acid Invaders - NOW [...]
We've been following French duo Acid Washed for a while, signed to Record Makers, they have new EP out from their forthcoming full length which pursues the same quest as their anthem 'General Motors, Detroit, America': ambitious & suave techno music, to be played loud in a club or to listen to in your couch. The whole EP still draws heavily from Acid house and Techno, but they've finally managed to find their sound: it's calm, cool and cleverly put together, we call it cinematic techno. It has equal parts of dark and light to create a complex, yet [...]

Acid Invaders' Rave On Kids was one of my favourite tracks of the past year or so. The mix of acid and pop sensibility gave a sugar rush thrill (the only kind of rush I get these days). They seem to have recently had a remix competition. If I knew this, I'd forgotten. Here are a few entries that I enjoyed, including some to download. A listen only track to start. This remix by Lucien Reden takes a proper techno approach to the track, in a measured piece of acid. It avoids going for techno assault and [...]

A 45 minute mixtape for you to download , courtersy of Acid Invaders. Don't normally post mixtapes but since I have a soft spot for Acid Invaders' work (especially Rave On Kids ) and in advance of their first album at the start of next year here's an acid fest celebrating the imminence of 2012. Love the first track especially. Good and acidic. D should love this. 1. Lotus - Mumbai Science 2. Reload - Jacques Lu Cont 3. Amino - Gingy & Bordello 4. Partys Over Los [...]

Hurrah! Been waiting for this for a while. Back in mid-August, Acid Invaders released their single Change ( here ). And at that time there was talk/rumour of a remix by the legendary techno innovator, Kevin Saunderson. But nothing since. Until now. The Kevin Sanderson remix is getting a proper release at the start of next month. But to whet your appetite there's a radio mix for free download. The full release has a version twice as long. This version has a proper old skool stance with the synth stabs, piano riff, drums and acid whooshes. Such a change from [...]
