E certamente all'eccesso si è votato questo collettivo di trenta (30) individui, scelti apparentemente senza un senso logico e gravitanti [...]

What can we say about Hawkwind? Certinaly nothing describes their prime-era better than Julian Copes words - "They were a collection of disreputable star rats fuelled by a battery of hallucinogenic influences and united only by an incorrigible sense of psi-powered, pre-1976 cosmic punk rock attitude broken off and gobbled as though it was their sole means of sustenance while playing riffs into

crikey. it's been a relatively restrained acid mothers year so far. just the cracking pikacyu*makoto combo (i think...). and kinda fitting that this is the most reserved record they've put out; titles, tracks, length, music all exhibiting a relative stately grace. ripper as the basis for lcd soundsystem's losing my edge: but have you seen my records? flower! travellin'! band! led zeppelin, pink floyd, hawkwind, grateful dead, the doors the doors the doors the doors! aye. it's got '67-'71 schmeared all over it. and impishly plays up to it. the brazen buggers. there's a lotta freaking [...]

A freak-out group for the 21st century founded in 1996 by members of the Acid Mothers Temple soul-collective. Led by Kawabata Makoto." Thus begins the story of a band of Japanese hippie-worshippers who have made a name for themselves trudging up the psychedelic sounds of the past and making them new again, I think. Kawabata Makoto has made a name for himself in the loud and heavy Japanese
A live multitrack recording from 2009 of the collaboration of Acid Mothers Temple SWR - Kawabata Makoto, Tsuyama Atushi, and Yoshida Tatsuya - with saxophonist Umezu Kazutoki. The live recordings were reassembled in the studio to create this magnificent album, an epic release that is both intricate and driving, with unusual twists and turns and a sense of humor that all 4 bring to their many

Toronto - Shilpa Ray And Her Happy Hookers is admittedly a great band name. It's a name I had seen around for a bit, especially in Austin during SXSW, where Ray and her bandmates were playing several showcases, as is the standard there. Having missed them in Austin, I was curious to see what they were all about and seeing as how they were opening for noise/psychedelia masters Acid Mothers Temple , I figured this was my chance. There were a few things that were notable about Shilpa Ray and her Happy Hookers. Firstly, Ray plays the [...]
By Andrew Wilhelm (TX)(YO, ANYBODY GOT GAGA TIX, HOLLA AT ME)They say April showers bring May flowers, and with the lineup for shows this month, those flowers will have spiked wristbands for stems.Hometowners Mindless have two gigs of note. They'll be playing with Disciples of Christ, featuring members of Magrudergrind, at The Broken Neck on the 18th. Better yet, on the 23rd, also at The Broken

Kawabata Makoto and his Acid Mothers Temple crew filled the Doug Fir Lounge with vintage psychedelic noise this past Saturday. Higashi Hiroshi's spacey waves of synths complemented the tribal vocals and Makoto's maniacal guitar so well that the entire crowd droned out properly for over 90 minutes. After leaving their fans in an ecstatic daze, the band and the Melting Paraiso U.F.O. quartet humbly walked back to their merch table, greeted by handshakes and broken English conversation. Opening the evening was Shilpa Ray and Her Happy Hookers , a Brooklyn band [...]
