ACID INVADERS LP

ACID INVADERS LP I've been featuring Belgian band Acid Invaders' work on this blog for about 18 months, since their classic Rave On Kids release in October 2010. They're now releasing their eponymous LP next week. And to mark the release there's a new track for free download. NOW! has their signature nu-acid sound, complete with a downright filthy techno bass line and some acid squiggles. But somehow, and goodness alone knows how, this still has enough jump around fun to be a pop tune as well. Look out for the LP. Acid Invaders - NOW [...]

Aerotronic & Gmorozov

Aerotronic & Gmorozov Times are changing, genres are moving, and we have seen ALOT of hardcore electro producers in our time, well they are shifting, Aerotronic is not an unfamiliar name here at Trashbags, but today their music is new, different, it contains acid and a whole lot of techno buzz. Teaming up with Gmorozov which is the first time this name( smells like RUSSIA to us ) has crossed our path they have created something of quality right here. "SPUTNIK" which our friendly techno friends Nadisko posted on their blog linked us,this [...]

Inkswel – UNTHANK004 EP

Inkswel – UNTHANK004 EP Underground label Unthank have produced some of the most excellent twisted house EP's in the last 2 years. They come as limited 103 vinyl presses with special artwork. A real collectors piece, which is what you would expect as an offshoot from the excellent Firecracker collective. The EP oozes class as Australian producer Inkswel brings elements of house, beats and latin flavours provided by Chico Mann before getting down right dirty as Funkineven works his acid magic. I'll be front and centre when this baby drops.

Stream: Atari Teenage Riot – Collapse of History Remixes

Atari Teenage Riot - Collapse of History (Christine Remix) (Official Teaser)
Berlin hardcore dissenters Atari Teenage Riot were among a new generation of German techno artists (also including ATR's Alec Empire, EC80R, Speed Freak, DJ Bleed, etc.) who sought to reconnect music with political radicalism through ever more challenging, experimental hybrids, engaging everything from speed metal and acid to jungle and hardcore punk. This is the [...]

80s Movies on LSD

Synchronize
The gist of Synchronize is a bad acid trip through the halcyon days of 80s pop culture film landmarks. You've got Indiana Jones, the Terminator, Doc and Marty, the Ghostbusters, Daniel-San and more all thrown together in one whacked out animated vision. I'm not even sure what to say about this, except this is what it's like when I fall asleep at night. " Synchronize is made for everybody who witnessed and loved the '80s and its awesome movies," reads the film's online description . "But [it's] also a reminder to those who look down upon Hollywood [...]

Peace Division

Peace Division feat Daniel Diamond - Club Therapy club techhouse
So I'm sitting here writing this 2000-page essay and iTunes shuffle totally reminded me of the awesome Peace Division and their superlative house music productions. I think I know what I want for my birthday - a voice as slick as the ones in these chunes. Now isn't that just perplexing? I'm sitting here focused to death writing this stupid paper on Minority Report and then shuffle comes along and totally screws up my train of thought. I'm looking at my paper now and all I want to do is dance... DANCE! DAMN IT! But because [...]

RA.303 A Guy Called Gerald - 2012.03.19

Acieeeed! So we had a neat idea: why not theme RA.303 on Roland's seminal TB-303 synth, the sound of acid house? In order to execute this ingenious plan we turned to Gerald Simpson, undoubtedly the UK's most revered proponent of the sound. This is largely thanks to a 1988 number named "Voodoo Ray," which we guess you may have heard before. Gerald was also a founding member of 808 State, who themselves (or perhaps Gerald solo, but that's another story) wrote an all-time classic in "Pacific State." You may have also heard of jungle. Well, Gerald had [...]

Viers – I Know

New bit from myself. Went on a proper house flex, lots of bass and shuffled 125bpm drums. Kinda went for a mash of UKG and Techno. Anyway here is a soundcloud link. Also did a freebie a few weeks ago, if you missed it. Thanks!

DEARJOSEPH

DEARJOSEPH DEARJOSEPH 's fabulous, fraught songs paint a gloomy urban landscape of bricked-up pubs, light-less alleys, peeling brothels and shadows under mangy railway arches; strife and life. Theirs is an agonised rock - sometimes fragile, sometimes noise-drenched - and a tightly-wrapped muddle: vocals under guitars, guitars deluged by drums, everything allied with everything else, the general effect of a dense musical ball you could spend futile hours trying to unpack. There's something very London about this murky impenetrability, and in the way which the guardedness only makes you more interested, only makes them more interest ing . [...]

VANDAL

VANDAL Here's something from seasoned dj/producer VANDAL for just about any jock. The release is nearly impossible to define, covering breaks and electro with some techy deep house flair. Peep the tunes below then grab your favourite from beatport . If you weren't in the know, Vandal also produces under the alter ego, Captain Magic. This one's a bit of a stomper. ++++++++++ Links: vandalmademedoit.com Vandal on SoundCloud [...]

Breton – Interference

Breton – Interference You've had your bretonLABS fill from Harriet recently, and now it's back to Breton proper. Taken from the forthcoming album Other People's Problems , new single Interference was recorded with German composer Hauschka and sees electro meet classical in a thrilling bit of sonic helter-skelter. The track fizzes and whizzes along rollercoaster-style, with its sudden, enervated peaks and scattergun vocals seemingly coming from all directions. If that's not good news enough, there's more: the song comes supported by a truly superb video... Click here to view the embedded video.
