Keeping in tune with the line up announced in phases trend, Electric Zoo just announced more headlining artists to the three-day festival taking place over Labor Day Weekend on August 30, August 31, and September 1. We dig that Electric Zoo is once again doing that label showcase takeover. On Friday, August 30, the hard-hitting duo of Skrillex and Boys Noize join forces as Dog Blood to curate the Riverside Tent with a Boys Noize Records & OWSLA showcase. For the rest of the weekend, Riverside sees the return of two world-renowned electronic music tastemakers: A-Trak’s [...]
Nicole Moudaber has worn several different hats in this industry - working as a promoter, label manager, and now label owner for Mood Records - but her clear strength lies in production and DJing. Both because of the reliable quality of her production and rapid pace at which she releases music (more than 5 EPs under her belt in 2012 alone), she's earned the title in many circles of the unofficial empress of her genre. As a DJ, she leans heavily on many of techno's customary frameworks while filling clubs and festivals with her spirited personality and straightforward bass lines. [...]

Nicole Moudaber – Believe LP The undisputed queen of techno is set to release her debut album on one of electronic music’s most esteemed labels. ‘Believe’ is 10-track monster that is scheduled for release on May 6 on Drumcode (of course). Building off the launch of her own MOOD imprint, Moudaber continues to push her own creative vision and offers a serious piece of work with ranging musical styles. Although admittedly ‘Believe’ is primarily aimed for club use, it still manages to entail moments of intimacy within those peaks of heaviness that she’s become known [...]

Rising Techno producer Nicole Moudaber will release her debut album, 'Believe', on May 6th on Drumcode. It's a special occasion for sure, but Moudaber says the "icing on the cake" was getting to work with label boss Adam Beyer. Now you can take an exclusive first listen to the duo's cut, "Take Hold," a driving nine-minute track with a relentless four-to-the-floor beat that sprouts all sorts of eerie synths and twisted vocal samples. www.electrowow.net
Few labels have been working so hard on creating a truly global brand as the Swedish techno label Drumcode. Drumcode is without a doubt the first name to be associated with straight-forward, yet uncompromising and top-quality European techno. Run out of Stockholm by Adam Beyer , the label recently celebrated its anniversary, marking the 15 years of releases by top techo names like Marko Carolla, Alan Fitzpartrick, Ida Engberg, Cari Lekebusch, Patrich Siech and of course Mr Beyer himself. In May, Drumcode adds another top techno name as Nigeria born, New York / London [...]

If you're a festy addict who's never ventured to the sweaty streets of downtown Miami in March for one of the biggest dance music events in the world, then sorry to tell you this, but YOU'RE SLIPPIN! As a 5-year vet of the UMF US edition (working hard on earning my Ph.D. in Raveolutionism) I am continually amazed by the fact that Ultra really does get better every single year. As with most massives, part of the allure lies in how organizers continually up the ante by extending the length of the event, selling more tickets, adding more [...]

Well, my March chart is late making it to the blog...but Spring is late too. I'm beginning to think it is never coming. Here are some deep and dark techno tunes to help keep us warm here in the frozen prairie and beyond. I know I usually say something about each, but to be honest, these tunes speak for themselves. Mr Bizz - Bamboo (D-Unity Remix) - Beat Therapy Recordings Taster Peter - Seeker (Original Mix) - Octopus Recordings Billy Dalessandro - Spring [...]
Deep. Deep House, Electronic mix from Mindset Records ft Troy Gunner (underground) Techno mix from Adam Beyer ( Drumcode founder is definitely on top of his game) Deep House mix from Tony Lionni (great track selection) Ambient Bass mix from Solitude (relaxing) Related posts:: Mix Mania - 004 [Slam + Lenzman + Freerange + Zoo Look] [...]
Of all of the events I was scheduled to attend this year, the Hotflush Recordings showcase was one I'd probably been looking forward to the most. I'd been closely following Scuba since Personality and George Fitzgerald since his 2012 Child EP. Already in 2013, the pair have popped up for a killer 70 minute Boiler Room set and George has obliterated the Radio 1 airwaves with his January Essential Mix. This same b2b setup in Miami would fill my giddy fangirl tendencies, but it was also WMC's worst-kept secret that Adam Beyer would be joining [...]
Editors' Selections is an opportunity for your favorite Dancing Astronaut contributors to talk about some of the music they're listening to that we might not always get an opportunity to post about from week to week. Sometimes it's out there, sometimes it's obscure, but you'll always get a peek into what we're loving behind closed doors. Amanda: Bondax - Gold (Trill-Scott Heron Future Screw) Trill-Scott Heron's future screw remix turns the already sultry "Gold" into some serious baby making music. [...]

Let Adam Bayer introduce you to his favourite techno tracks of the moment by sticking on today's Friday Set Selector. This studio mix from Drumcode's front man will pass the time whilst you're waiting for the weekend to arrive....

It’s hard to believe that it took Pacha NYC this long to bring the Swedish techno icon Adam Beyer to their storied dancing facility. For almost two decades, the man has been pioneering a relentless spree of banging tech house and techno, using his Drumcode label as the driving force behind his quest to showcase the works of legends and rising stars alike. Last Saturday he graced the decks of the West 46 th street location with a marathon set that lasted into the early hours of the morning. Read past the break to hear how [...]
This weekend in New York, techno faithfuls have something to be excited about. With Marquee slated for its grand opening tomorrow night, Dubfire is the first high-profile act to grace the newly constructed and redesigned nightclub. With future booking such as Sharam and James Zabiela in the coming weeks, it seems the rumors of Marquee designating one night per week to the techier side of electronic music is validated. Techno will remain in NYC - apparently, on Friday nights. You just finished reading Techno giant Dubfire to invade New York City [...]
