Unbelievably, crushingly sad news to report. TMZ reports that Adam Yauch, otherwise known as Beastie Boys member MCA, has died. At this point, no cause has been revealed, though it's likely to have something to do with the cancerous tumor that he was diagnosed with in 2009. He was 47.

The Beastie Boys ' Adam Yauch is reported to have lost his battle with cancer, with showbiz website TMZ confirming reports of the MC's death. The hip-hop group were founded back in in 1979 with Mike D, Mix Master Mike, and Ad Roc. The group are best known for their hits 'Fight For Your Right (To Party)' and 'Sabotage'. Yauch (pictured right) leaves behind his wife and their daughter. He was just 47 years old.

The musician aka MCA, has passed away, aged 47.

Beastie Boys' Adam "MCA" Yauch will not be in attendance when the group is inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame later tonight, according to RollingStone.com .
