Dot to Dot 2012 By Paul Faller Website / Tickets It's arguable that the UK is beginning to suffer from festival fatigue – even big names like Sonisphere have fallen victim to the tough financial climate. With that in mind, city-based festivals are looking like more and more of an attractive proposition, providing the opportunity to pick from a myriad of bands for a fraction of the price of larger events, and with the added bonus that you can worry less about [...]
Admiral Fallow might just have found the winning combination for perfect indie-pop - scottish accents, flawless harmonies and perfect pop sensibilities. They share with us, amongst other things, the beauty of tour life, subsisting of Saucermeat Rolls, Prince and iPhone games. Tell us about yourselves and about Admiral Fallow? We are Admiral Fallow from Glasgow. There are 5 of us....Louis Abbott - voice, guitars

Camden Crawl (4-6 May 2012) // Words: Saam Das Last year, I somehow managed to see twenty bands across two days of the Camden Crawl . This year, I didn't quite get that far but came surprisingly close. Here's something of a chronological splurge of my wanderings around Camden on the Saturday of the festival (which followed the opening night's Koko event, somewhat separate from the Crawl itself). I began [...]
Unlike my fellow blogger, The Pop Cop , I am stupidly excited about today. Not since about 1997 when I queued to get tickets to see Blur at the Barrowlands, has there been an event that I have been happy to haul myself out of bed at an ungodly hour to get down and in line. But this morning I will be leaving the house just after half seven to go an stand outside my favourite record store, Love Music to pick up some of the exclusive 'goodies' which are being released as part of this years [...]
Admiral Fallow have released the first video for their new album, Tree Bursts In Snow , that drops digitally on May 22nd and physically on June 26th. The video is for "The Paper Trench" and follows the travels of a tree man as he searches for a new home. I can't say I blame. The property values for nature in his first home are probably very poor. The video was directed by Greg Davenport in Glasgow and Loch Lomond. Watch it below. Read more »
So you wait for one rambling news post, then along come two in one week. If you're not a fan of my tired inane ramblings then you may want to look away now... First up, the list of acts invited to showcase at this years goNORTH were announced earlier this week. The event which sees some of the most exciting up and coming bands playing across Inverness city centre takes place on [...]

The album features 10 new tracks, including "Beetle In The Box," "Guest Of The Government" and the new single, "The Paper Trench." It was produced by Paul Savage at Chem 19 and mastered by Greg Calbi at Sterling Sound, NYC and has stunning artwork by artist Kezia Ruth Merrick. The first single off the album, "Beetle in the Box," has [...]
One of the most keenly anticipated records of 2012, Admiral Fallow's second album Tree Bursts In Snow , has leaked a full seven weeks ahead of its May 21 release date. The normally mild-mannered Admiral Fallow member Sarah Hayes struggled to hide her shock and indignation at the unexpected revelation in a video recorded exclusively for The Pop Cop . April 22: Cafe [...]
Scottish indie-folk rockers Admiral Fallow have announced the release of their sophomore album Tree Bursts In Snow out May 22nd through Nettwerk. The five-piece is known for its beautiful boy/girl melodies and spectacular instrumentation. The new album was produced by Paul Savage (Franz Ferdinand, Mogwai, Teenage Fanclub) and mastered by Greg Calbi (Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes, The National). Says lead singer/guitarist Louis Abbott, "I think of an album in the same way I do a live show. It needs to have a strong balance between catchy numbers and the slow-burners." Check [...]
Scottish band, Admiral Fallow , put out an absolute treasure of an album, Boots Met My Face , in 2010. Finally they have a new single to share with us. They also made this single into a limited edition, hand stamped, 7" vinyl (only 500 of the puppies) and will be on sale March 5th. All of this is the lead up to their new LP, Tree Bursts In Snow , to be released worldwide on Nettwerk on 21 / 22 May 2012. Find them on facebook and bandcamp. [...]
Admiral Fallow's debut album Boots Met My Face was a wonderfully evocative piece of work that found favour with many critics and continues to worm its way onto the Breaking More Waves stereo. Yesterday marked the Scottish band's return to the fold with a new single. Beetle In The Box is taken from the forthcoming album Tree Bursts In The Snow which is due 21st May through Nettwerk. The album was recorded and mixed by Paul Savage at Glasgow's Chem 19 (Mogwai, King Creosote) and mastered by Greg Calbi (Bon Iver, [...]
Morgan Bailas HMV's The Next Big Thing festival showcases hot up and coming bands at nine venues around the UK over a span of twelve days, all for just £10 a ticket (roughly $16USD). We've been smitten with Glasgow's wonderful Admiral Fallow ever since we saw them supporting Frightened Rabbit at the back end of 2010, so we were delighted today when the band announced details of a comprehensive UK tour. It kicks off on April 22nd in Gourock and the busy schedule sees the band on the road for the whole of May. The tour is set to coincide with the release of the group's second album; the follow up to the frankly gorgeous Boots Met My Face. You can currently get your hands on Beetle in [...]
Admiral Fallow - Tree Bursts In Snow Review
People compare them to Mumford & Sons. They're produced. They play folky-pop. They're dramatic. They're European. I like them anyhow. Read more »

Admiral Fallow – The Paper Trench (video)
Although the single "Beetle in the Box" was released earlier in the year, with an animated lyric video to support it, the video released today for "The Paper Trench" marks the first proper music video to come out of Admiral Fallow's soon to be released sophomore effort, Tree Bursts in Snow , the much-anticipated ( by me at least ) follow-up to their debut, Boots Met My Face : On the first couple of listens, this already seems to me the best thing Admiral [...]
Admiral Fallow - Tree Bursts In Snow
Admiral Fallow - Led by frontman and chief songwriter Louis Abbott, Scottish indie folk/pop band with a rough hewn edge returns with the eagerly anticipated follow up to 2010's breakout debut Boots Met My Face , an album we heralded as "quietly epic" and "a triumphant, visionary work" // Release : Tree Bursts In Snow (May 22 digital - June 26 CD, Nettwerk) // Sounds like : while there are elegant moments of ethereal harmonies and bedroom folk introspection to be had, the band seems to have honed [...]

Listen: Admiral Fallow - "Beetle in the Box"
In the fall of 2010 we hailed Admiral Fallow frontman and chief songwriter Louis Abbott as "an important new indie voice, akin to The Decemberist's Colin Meloy or Tim Smith of Midlake" and the band's debut Boots Met My Face as "a triumphant, visionary work." So needless to say we're pretty darn well primed for the Scottish band's upcoming album Tree Bursts In Snow , arriving in the U.K. May 1 via Nettwerk. "Beetle in the Box" leads the way in gloriously splendiferous fashion, measured guitar riffs [...]
