Ahhhh Valentines day. It just wouldn't be the same without a grubby guitar band from Scotland smothering you in their love would it? Probably not, no. The Yawns were one of our favourite discoveries from last year. Their self-titled debut LP placed highly in our end-of-year list and it's still available for only £3 from their Bandcamp page . It's a heady mix of Dinosaur Jr fuzz and Belle & Sebastian playfulness, and we just can't recommend it highly enough. Anyway, without further ado, here [...]
It is time to Admire greatness, and yes Admire is capitalized because it is the title of this song. The tempo starts off very murky and synth driven, while drum and bass slowly creep you into to a traptacular high hat collision that takes you for a ride if you're not strapped in. Luckily, I ALWAYS strap in. The song Admire is by Y U M E , an 18 year old producer out of NYC named Jesse Taylor . I'll repeat that, 18 years old. Ok, now that his youth/prodigy status [...]
YUME is an 18 year-old producer out of New York City with boundless talent. Granted I'm making this assumption off of this track and this track only, but I think it's a pretty easy call after listening to "Admire" all the way through a couple of times. It's an intricately ... Read More

And to start off the new month, here are a few more tunes that are well worth some ear-time and frankly, well worth more than the few paltry words of description we are providing... Remember's David Robinson wearing these when he was dominating for the Spurs? Only bad thing about these retro's is that it won't have the pump technology that the original shoe had. Nonetheless these are classics and the colorway is clutch , stay tuned for the release info. Checkout additional pics below.

Although they formed back in 2007 it took until 2011 for Admiral Fallow to become household names. The slow-burning success of their debut LP Boots Met My Face led to them winning Best Album of 2010 by Scottish music website The Pop Cop, followed by a whole host of rave reviews upon its release and even more so again when it was re-released the following year. After relentlessly touring Boots the band set to work on its follow-up, Tree Bursts In Snow, which was released at the [...]

We've been smitten with Glasgow's wonderful Admiral Fallow ever since we saw them supporting Frightened Rabbit at the back end of 2010, so we were delighted today when the band announced details of a comprehensive UK tour. It kicks off on April 22nd in Gourock and the busy schedule sees the band on the road for the whole of May. The tour is set to coincide with the release of the group's second album; the follow up to the frankly gorgeous Boots Met My Face. You can currently get your hands on Beetle in [...]
Humanzi frontman Shaun Mulrooney's debut as Admiral Black was conceived in a Berlin bar after a chance meeting with producer/drummer Earl Harvin, and between the two of them them (plus the odd guest appearance) 'Phantasmagoric' was born. The bulk of the album could have been recorded at any point during the past twenty years, taking elements of psychedelia, garage, glam and britpop. Because of this it feels slightly out of step with any current musical trends, and this bandwagon-avoiding approach is surely one to be applauded. It's something of a shame then, that Admiral Black [...]
