Hi, Pen! I have to say I wasn't aware of Adventure Time until Comic-Con this year. It was huge.

A blend of oldies and Brit-punk with tight execution and sticky choruses that is good from start to finish. Cute Lepers are juvenile and ridiculous. From singer Steve E Nix's caricature fake-British accent to choruses that reek of sloganized, teenage rebellion, like "Give me noise give me loud things!" and "'77 teenage heaven", the band just exudes an air of stylistically vintage snootiness. Somehow, though, it isn't annoying and the group rocks because of that attitude. Sonically, Cute Lepers amount to two parts Stiff Little Fingers and one part the Shangri Las. That's to...
Adventure Time may just be the most fresh show that Cartoon Network has aired since Ed, Edd, 'n Eddy was still in production. The sheer amount of pop-culture references present, tied to a fantasy backdrop, makes this into a show that can be enjoyed no matter whether the watcher is 8, 28, or 58. Along [...]
Several gems arrive this week, as do a mountain of TV shows. See what suits your fancy:
A very special episode of Adventure Time airs Sept. 5 -- and no, I'm not talking about one where Finn gets locked in a refrigerator or Jake has ...
As a big fan of Adventure Time on the Cartoon Network, I was thrilled to hear a new toy line is on the way.
Seattle's The Cute Lepers made it abundantly clear with their first album, Can't Stand Modern Music , that they have no interest in contemporary musical trends, opting rather to mine the late-seventies for inspiration. It will come as no surprise then, if I tell you that the band haven't pulled a Dee Dee Ramone and moved into a hip new genre with their latest release, but are instead still stuck firmly in the past. Adventure Time , the band's third album, is half an hour's worth of uptempo, [...]

Our stream today comes from Seattle, WA-based The Cute Lepers in the form of their new full-length for 1-2-3-4 Go! Records , Adventure Time . You can check it out on their Punknews.org Profile .
Evenin'. Sitting here enjoying a caramel egg my dad sent me. Easter is the best! Um, so this week has been hectic, at least in one of those I'm-too-lazy-to-work-so-I' m-gonna-spend-all-my-free-time -sleeping kinds of ways. Fortunately, I have a grand ol' set of links for you for the coming days! I think they mostly follow a general theme of sunshine, springtime, and general pleasantness. I hope that's okay with y'all… I'm certainly not going to finish writing this now, because the Adventure Time season premiere is on in 10 minutes. In the rare case that you have no idea what I'm [...]

In September 2007 dublab launched the Echo Expansion tour. For two weeks the tour traveled through Europe sharing future roots music with excited ears. To commemorate this experience an extremely limited edition twelve inch featuring new songs from eight of the artists on tour was released; including tracks by Flying Lotus, Dntel and Blank Blue. This vinyl only release sold out in a flash, so after returning home it was decided to continue expanding. Eight new tunes have been added from artists who embarked on the Echo Expansion tour or supported it from the home front and now Porter Records [...]

These past two days have provided me with a ton of great music. It would be awesome if you would let me give it to you. Enjoy! I bought the new Crystal Antlers' EP yesterday, and this is a standout track. I saw these guys at F Yeah, and they put on a really good live show. Crystal Antlers- Owl I bought this CD as well. This group Adventure Girl consists of two of my favorite musicians, Saul Williams and Daedelus. Adventure Time- Girl of the Well [...]

Adventure Time - This Dome is Our Home (Milan 2007) Various Artists – Artdontsleep Presents From L.A. With Love / Milan While the I can easily understand the argument that some of the best music is produced by artists secluded from our continually interconnected web of a world (having no influences sometimes can be the best influence of individuality of all), but as music history has shown us, a geographically-centered collective of similar-minded musicians and artists create some of the most fascinating art of all. From the Delta [...]
Alfred Weisberg-Roberts better know as Daedelus , the eccentric, electronic maestro of the Pacific coast follows up his fantastic Daedelus Denies the Day record with his Throw a Fit EP . This record is in typical downtempo/experimental style and was mixed by both Daedelus along with Daddy Kev . The track "It's Madness" is a stand out for me. Check it out. Mp3: Daedelus - "It's Madness" Bonus Mp3: Daedelus and Frosty - "We All Agree it's Grand" [...]

Oh, say you want my love tonight Is it awaiting on a new moon day? Tell me, just light my love for you You make me feel the gentle moonlight on my face I lie awake and watch you sleep With every breath you take my heart grows weak, And in the morning when you rise I'll soon be dreaming here in paradise - Smokey & Miho , Blue Glasses I've been wanting to explore different side of hip-hop. The gentler kind, something slightly [...]

Got an email today about some new Daedelus stuff. Anything this guy does is bound to trip you out a notch. He's got some long time musical training, and can play way too much stuff. He then tends to use a lot of these instruments somehow in his recordings. Also i think you can just notice some of his training and immense understading of music by the way he throws all his samples and music together. Him and Fourtet are both trippers in this respect. Anyway he has a new album out called adventure time, which he's done with Frosty. [...]
