The much talked about debut of Africa Hitech 's ( Mark Pritchard and Steve Spacek ) LP ' 93 Million Miles ' was released earlier this week on Warp . Veteran Pritchard has crafted something really special on this LP mashing the genres that have been blended so much the last few years further to even more futuristic styles of bass, techno, juke and even dancehall, while keeping a tight grip on the spiritual soul of Africa, assumingly intended as an ethos behind the whole record. The entire LP is out now and [...]

Just a few days ahead of the album's release on May 10, those kind folks at Warp are offering you the chance to preview their storming debut in its entirety. The collaborative effort of producer Mark Pritchard and vocalist Steve Spacek , Africa Hitech have produced a storming LP of futuristic bass, digital dancehall and incorragebly danceable techno. If you're heading to the Bang Face Weekender this month then be sure to check out their set, it promises to be gripping. Oh, and if you like your music free and full [...]

By now I'm pretty sure that everyone has heard 'Out in the streets', the HUGE tune from Africa Hitech aka Steve Spacek & Mark Pritchard . Well this is the album that that tune came off, and the whole album is super TIGHT. It's released on the MEGA-LABEL Warp Records. Give it a chance, it's SO GOOD! Africa Hitech - 93 Million Miles ...

Africa Hitech is the brain child of Mark Pritchard ( Harmonic 313 / Global Communication ) and Steve Spacek . These two electronic veterans came together in 2010 to unleash some of the best EP's of the year thanks to Warp records. Their tunes vary from dark and deep electronica to four sheets to the wind acid beats. The recent announcement of a new album is getting the hairs on the back of our necks up and now we have some noise to make it all a little more real. Check the [...]

Production whizz Mark Pritchard is well known for his ability to turn his hand to a variety of different musical styles. A look through his discography proves as much - although chances are you might not know that it's Pritchard who's manning the boards on many of his records, thanks to the wide range of aliases he records under . Now, the man behind Harmonic 33, Harmonic 313, and Troubleman - to name just a few of his alter-egos... at this rate, Kool Keith's status of alias king might [...]
Across the six songs of Africa Hitech’s 93 Million Miles album sampler (its title referring either to our distance to the sun or a Jared Leto song), jet-setting men-about-the-dance-world Mark Pritchard and Steve Spacek craft ... read more

As winter in New York City slowly melts away around us, festival season looms larger and larger on the horizon, with events increasing in frequency all around the world along with the rising temperatures. One such event that is particularly noteworthy is Sonar Festival of Advanced Music and Technology, which takes place in the heart of Barcelona, Spain. Sonar was without a doubt one of the highlights of last summer’s musical adventures, and we cannot wait to see what the extraordinary festival has to offer this June 16, 17, and 18, 2011. [...]

The duo of Mark Pritchard and Steve Spacek are set to release "93 Million Miles" on Warp Records. Not quite sure what to make of "Out in the Streets," except to say that it is oddly hypnotic. Not hypnotic in the sense that the listener is aware of a quality that sets their mind alight in some way, but hypnotic in that the track breaks down concentration, delivering the listener straight into the song's world. Africa Hitech opt for a virtually [...]

Africa HiTech are Mark Pritchard (of Harmonic 313/Global Communications/countless more psuedonyms fame) and Steve Spacek (of Spacek fame and notable Dilla collaborator). They began bonding over their shared passion for the seemingly disparate spheres of bubbling Detroit techno, soul and fierce Jamaican digital dancehall. It was when they both, by pure coincidence, found themselves living in Australia that the connection was cemented. Africa HiTech is the moniker which represents both Steve and Mark’s love for all things progressive within music, whilst acknowledging that the roots of much of today’s popular music can be traced directly back to [...]

Africa Hitech go hard in the dub paint with their release of " Out In The Streets ". The single features a melody from the 1984 Reggae classic " World A Music " by Ini Kamoze, more commonly recognizable from Damian Marley's 2009 usage in " Welcome To Jamrock ". "Out In The Street" will probably please most UK Funky/ Dub heads, but let us not forget Konrad 's scorcher from a few years back (below). More info on Africa Hitech over at Warp . [...]

The Red Bull Academy kindly threw this 2010 highlight from Africa Hitech out for free all the way back in 2009. With Steve Spacek on vocals, it's a typically sunny, soul-drenched affair. Jittery afro-electronics and tinny percussion sit atop a flow of deep dub bass, courtesy of producer Mark Pritchard. In fact made by Spaceck and Pritchard during the 2007 Red Bull Academy, this roots-influenced jam is guaranteed to lift you out of those January blues (be sure to pick the whole 12 track EP ). Africa Hitech [...]
