[aftersun] Ja, Ihr seht richtig – das nebenstehende Foto des Einmannprojekts [aftersun] lässt schon gewisse Rückschlüsse auf die Art der Musik zu, die dem Hörer hier entgegen schallt. Es geht noisig zu. Es werden Hallgitarren und Verzerrer eingesetzt. Kurz, es wird dem Shoegaze gefrönt. Und dies absolut durchaus unterhaltsam, wie wir beim Lauschen der Debüt-EP «Pain Sounds» feststellen können – Stephan Cherkashin aus Brooklyn bezieht sich bei seinem Schaffen auf die üblichen Verdächtigen, von My Bloody Valentine bis hin zu Ride. Das klingt zuweilen entsprechend eierig, vor allem bei «Don't touch» aber fast schon krautig. [...]
