Having nothing to do with Air the French band or for that matter France in general or even planes the band Air France from Gothenburg might have put together the best record of this year with On the Way Down . Pitchfork compared the album to the Avalanches' Since I Left You and while thats a streach this record is certainly close. I've been playing it non stop for the last two days. Its import only at the moment but as soon as you can get it I recommend it. Or just go grab it [...]

DesperateBicyles made some comments about live shows and summer just last month, and it got me thinking. Some albums are definitely "summer albums" and this seems tailored to the listener more than anything. Music, perhaps more than any other form of art, can quite easily evoke a listener's experiences and the feelings that came with them. Some albums/songs, for me, can't help but bring back the joyful freedom of summer. No, not the Ignition (Remix) or Tipsy circa 04. For me summer albums are simply light and fun...and of course released over summer, [...]

The best of Mobtown Mix was such a success I decided to leave it up for July...so without further ado, here is the 31st installment of Mobtown Mix. 13 tracks we've been into the past month or two. Also, note that you can stream the entire mix and get info on each artists on our radio player to the right there --> Enjoy. Download the entire mix (.ZIP) Tracklist and individual MP3 downloads after the jump... [...]

But, hey, we're cool with that. The soothing and slightly melancholic sounds of Air France have always been a fave around here in Kunk-a-land - who cares if sometimes they sound like they were making the alternate soundtrack for the movie The Beach . For all i know, maybe they were... due to the high season tourist demographic, many Thai islands are known as 'little Swedens' after all. But enough about Thailand and movies with Leonardo DiCaprio... the point is that Air France actually hail from Gotenburg and make tropical pop music and they're cool. Never [...]

Air France - No Excuses Great summer track by Air France , it's from their No Way Down (2008) EP. And here are some other nice songs and remixes to listen on a tropical summer day! i really wish i could work out how i could do a french laugh in writing language.. maybe in the meantime i could do a very french stylee post? im not sure if y'all will remember but last christmas (i think) there was a bit of.. cafuffle.. about a track that was posted on the daft punk forum by a mysterious stranger named T.B.... everyone thought that Mr Bangalter himself had made the track (entitled 'Love') for his many numerous fans.. although the track was of the highest high quality, it turned out that a fellow named [...]

Random electro tunes I listen these times, stuff I recently (re)discovered. I moved last month on the west French coast and it was kind of a mess. I'll be working hard all summer long, like 50 hours a week, starting at 5am each morning. I use these two month to make heavy money, but I hope I'll have enough free time to keep this blog up to date. MAZELTOV ! Graham Marsh aka Desimal, 1980-2006 [...]
Not sure what it is about Film School, Explosions in the Sky, Studio and Air France, but they all make me think of half-speed surf footage, bad surfing movies, and otherwise summery drama. I'll try to recreate the experience somehow here: Film School - "On and On" Explosions in the Sky - "Greet Death" Air France - "No Way Down" Studio - "Indo"

i have some new Air France for you, bitches! sorry, i shouldn't use those kind of words when talking about this band - i don't think they'd approve. their stuff is so insanely relaxed it makes me think they've never used cuss words in their lives. actually that's bullshit (there i go again), who hasn't? either way, 'Collapsing At Your Door' is another great track by this Swedish duo. i still don't quite grasp the concept of their name because, seriously, that airline sucks ass (no offence if you happen to work there, and [...]
First we had the Fifa Records label, then along came Air France the band, what next - Vatican the venue? Joel Karlsson and Henrik Markstedt are from Gothenburg, are signed to Sincerely Yours and are the fuel that propels Air France. ‘Collapsing At Your Doorstep’ is probably too obtuse to become a dancefloor hit but my how its grooves make swivelling torso movements a distinct possibility.

Time to Pretend - MGMT No Excuses - Air France Somewhere in my Heart - Aztec Camera

shit, the week has started already? dayum! what happened to leaving work on Friday afternoon excited to start the weekend?! this also means the end of my blur of a birfday weekend. well, that sucks. i'm afraid it's back to work for most of us but for the luckier of you out there who are on vacation... i will track you down and steal your identity! i want to be you! please? so as you may or may not know, the start of the week inevitably means Damo's Monday mix tape which i usually [...]

considering it's Bastille Day (French independence day, for those who aren't part-frog like myself and have no idea what i'm on about), i thought to myself it was an appropriate time to cover Air France . no, not the airline. i'm talking about the amazingly chillaxed band from Sweden. i don't know where their name comes from, nor why they chose to name it after the less-than-amazing airline but what i do know is that their work rocks my socks. there's very little information about them out there on the interweb but their sound has been labelled [...]

If a glowing review in Pitchfork isn't the kind of thing that gets you motivated to check out a new band, my two cents can't be worth much either. However, in the spirit of French "Je M'enfoutisme", I'll say it anyways: J'adore Air France ! No Way Down EP in stores now. Air France - No Excuses

Air France - No Excuses Ladyhawke - Back of the Van (Mock and Toof Mix) The Black Ghosts ft. Damon Albarn - Repetition Kills You LCD Soundsystem - Freakout / Starry Eyes Andreas Kleerup ft. Neneh Cherry - Forever Gillette - Short Dick Man (bsbtrfdclub remix) [...]
