Today I have for you some beautiful wobbles that will surely get your head bobbing . First we have Datsik's new banger King Kong with Bare which is a bass booster and is pretty fast pace but I feel that the wobbles blend nicely with the melody. I feel most artist collaborate and then one takes over the other sound wise. You can see the nice blend of both in this track. There's just something about Legend of Zelda Remixes I just love and I rest my case with [...]

Assorted ramblings on these acts, after the jump... Alan Pownall: Colourful Day (Seams Remix).mp3 Jay Jay Pistolet: Happy Birthday You.mp3 (Recommended!) The Vaccines: Blow It Up.mp3 I like the clicks and scrapes in this Seams Remix of Alan Pownall's Colorful Day, and how the change of speed somehow brings out the Bill Withers in his voice. Here's the original.: [...]

Welcome to another day of Video Fight Club where two videos battle it out in quest of conquering the comfortable seat that is the Video of the Day throne. Our winner yesterday was the great young band with a bright future ahead of them Ocasan and their video for 'When You're Around' is our video of the day. There's going to be a riot on today's Video Fight Club . Imelda May is creating some 'Mayhem' in her pursuit to victory and with past releases such [...]
For some reason I keep waking up at the crack of dawn everyday and can never fall back asleep but I ain't mad at yah, sleep is the cousin of death. This little dilema has made me put serious thought into the ultimate morning playlist, an eclectic mix of internal themes and flavors, a time traveling back to the future experience, one that motivates yet still keeps the relaxed nature of the AM in the back of the mind. With these prerequisites at hand I went out searching in the volt and found the Seams Remix of Alan Pownall's [...]

I have been listening to a good deal of softer, quieter and more laid back electronic tunes over the last few months, which has meant this mixtape slowly building and evolving since last December. So some of these tracks are brand new, whilst others are some of my favourites from the end of 2009 - it has been my most played playlist though so I though it was about time I shared. The mixtape opens up with Television Keeps Us Apart , who are a Swedish band who just make some of the most beautifully layered and [...]

As Saturday nights go, mine was a real treat. I was lucky enough to be one of 200 people who spent it at The Flowerpot in Kentish Town (incidentally a venue run by the amazing Beans On Toast ), where the advertised "members of Mumford & Sons " were in fact joined by Damien Rice , Pete Roe , Alan Pownall , and Angus & Julia Stone for an unforgettable night of music madness. I arrived before the 7pm opening time and was glad to have done so when I joined [...]

Alan Pownall one-off London show set for August 3rd at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen London based singer songwriter Alan Pownall is set to play a headline show at the Hoxton Bar & Kitchen August 3, 2010. Appearing alongside his band, Pownall will be playing songs from his hugely anticipated debut album, 'True Love Stories' - released July 19th on Mercury Records . The show offers fans the chance to catch this fast ascending star in an intimate setting. [...]

When I found out the Young & Lost Club girls, namely Nadia Dahlawi and Sara Jade, were a little younger than myself it really put how much they have done and how influential they are in the London music scene into some perspective for me. And now, celebrating their 50th single and 5 years as a label, they are releasing a double-disc compilation of 35 of their favourites. Their story is one of musical fairytale of sneaking out of boarding school to catch gigs around London, before starting a beautifully budget fanzine called Pyrrha,' [...]

There's a very relaxed vibe to Lounge on the Farm festival, Merton Farm near Canterbury. The sun helps this atmosphere - it shines powerfully all day, but the new local authority licensing restriction that limits punters bringing their own alcohol onto site is also a significant factor. With the smell of cow pats not far away and a market area that retails only locally produced food (even the farm itself sells edibles made from its own livestock - a properly sustainable burger that hasn't travelled hundreds of miles in production) Lounge on the Farm has a welcoming local / [...]
As regular Vacay readers will know, we tend to highlight remixers in posts. However for this post I thought I'd take a slightly different tact and focus on the artist being remixed. With the impending release of his debut album, True Love Stories , there is no better time to bring up Alan Pownall . A few really good remixes of his work have been put out as you can see/hear below. I look forward to various producers getting their teeth stuck into the new tracks. My personal favorite is by soon-to-be electro God's Monarchy [...]

Alan Pownall the London based singer song writer has teamed up with us here at MUZU.TV once again to bring you guys his fans another competition and this time round it is a bit special. Alan is set to play the iTunes Festival at Camden's Roundhouse in London on the 7th of July and he has been kind enough to give us one pair of tickets to give away. Sounds pretty good doesn't it? Well if you want to get your hands on this pair of tickets all you need to do [...]

[MP3] Alan Pownall - "Don't you know me"

Well, I am now eight working days away from shiftless unemployment becoming a wildly successful entrepreneur, and as mental a move as this might be I am very, very excited to get going. I am an obssessive type, as you probably know by now, and I need projects to get just a little bit too focussed on, so this should be perfect. Anyhow, the inital lineup for the Edge Festival has been announced. So far so moderately interesting, with bands like Eels, The Low Anthem, Broken Records and Beirut on the bill. These things [...]

The single release for this Alan Pownall slow-burner, "Colourful Day", doesn't hit shelves until July 5 , but that hasn't stopped the lanky coiffured duke from filming and releasing this enchanting new video clip for it. Enjoy the sweet nectar of this beach-set siesta clip, which is pretty perfectly hued compared to Pownall's emotive delivery. Pownall shares a co-headline quick tour of the UK with Lissie, kicking off on June 16. (mp3) Alan Pownall - The Others Godspeed! Related posts: [...]
This week, we'll get all gooey over adolescent sadness, folk singers taking to the dance floor, and leave our hearts in Denver. (You'll see). Hey guys, I've once again decided to crawl out of my cave. I've been devoting most of time to figuring out how to build a 35 foot tall geodesic dome for the best (new) music festival of the decade. Anyway... I was just having a conversation about how great a soothing dubstep beat can be. Don't get me wrong, I'm all about face melting and fingering your daughter and finding your dad's wedding ring or what ever fucked up shit Terror is into, but sometimes you wanna just sit back and let your face melt without getting shat all over [...]
