I swam through some of my Sunday blogs today and came across an infant duo by the name of Alcohol&Ecstasy . Obviously the name caught my attention. As it turns out, their music is a far cry from the presumed bangers insinuated by their flamboyant alias. A more fitting name would be HotTea&Cigarettes. Very chill and pretty mellow, the duo's Band Camp contains a flurry of experimental tracks that vary from piano instrumentals to hiphop ballads; the oldest of which dates back less than one month age. I know absolutely nothing about this group, other than that they consist of two producers out of England. That's really sketch, considering several of their tracks ignore ethics by not crediting them as remixes (i.e. "Krystal," which is a nice re-take of Shelter by XX). Nonetheless, they've got something going for them. Glitchy electronic sounds overlap to form simple, textured beats in Smoke Good. Krystal speeds up the low tempo feel of XX's Shelter and changes the pitch of the female vocals for a warmer feel. Smoke Good - Alcohol&Ecstasy [...]
Photography: azrasta Alcohol&Ecstasy consists of the producer duo Attila and Eden, and have already put up about a dozen songs on their Bandcamp. Very smooth, very promising.
