Alif Tree Fransız'ların Nujazz'a kazandırdıkları yetenekli bir isim.

I am one of very few that thinks U2 really isn't that great, other than The Joshua Tree and a few other random songs. The fact that Rolling Stone gave the new release five stars pretty much guarantees I won't like it. But Neko Case ... ohhh Neko Case. If only you were ten years younger. Anyway, you already know I like her new album , so there's that. Wild Light 's debut is catchy, but I bet the feeling won't last long. We shall [...]

Ryan (StopMe): I can highly recommend two new charity albums from Warchild and 4AD . They're packed with essential covers and exclusive recordings but posting mp3s of two charity records would be like stealing from a collection tin, so click here and here to buy them. Luckily this week has overflowed with many other excellent songs and here's the best ten: Alif Tree's 'Way Down South' is an atmospheric Blues cut featuring the rumbling vocal-chords of Tony Joe White . Maybe [...]
I don't know if I would have been able to identify this as a European outing judging the album by the art work on the front, but I could have made a good guess. Even with the solid colored squares and circles that are displayed for the listener to see, the music, at least the first half of the album is engorged with European style electronic hip hop. On the first few tracks, Nina Simone and Shirley Horn are sampled over top of minimal, lo-fi beats with jazz inclinations and strings. That in and of itself would have [...]
Mysterian Today from the sublime Untitled , is Alif Tree, a mysterious and shadowy stylist from France. This is one of those songs that I think of as "suggestive" in every sense of the word. (I almost said "the world" which might have been right as well.) But each time I hear it, I feel like a suggestion has been made of how to interpret the world at that moment. See where it takes you... [...]
Here in Missouri we are in the midst of a very long heat stretch. It's the type of heat that pretty much leaves you unable to breath as soon as you step outside, it's that hot. In between long stretches like this I think we have only had one full evening/night of rain. It's been pretty grueling, however living here you come to terms with that after awhile and just accept that it's going to be scorching hot for an extended period of time. Regardless, this Tuesday's playlist is hopefully the complete opposite of the heat [...]
