Sorry to bore you but thought I'd chuck up a quick bootleg I did back in december of Altern 8 - Move My Body, hope you enjoy and let me know if any of you play this out... video's would be cool too! : ) Altern Nelly - Move My Body (Nelly Bootleg) (Mediafire)

Pic: Boooooom!

R!M!E sent me over some fresh remixes along with a new original production for your listening pleasure. Also here's an eclectic mixtape he put together "something a bit different, a lot of tracks I generally don't get a chance to play all mashed across genres and styles". Enjoy. Every week we are emailed a heap of tracks from all over the globe.. So instead of having them collect dust in our inbox I thought I'd introduce Tuesday's Inbox. In the past I have posted a heap of tracks which had been sent to us, but now it's going to happen weekly.. So if you have tracks you want to share send them over and I'll post them up. We are all about new music and theres now a better way, I believe, to share. Since it is the first week I'm doing this there are going [...]

Pic: Hobo Gestapo First up is a track that found its way into our inbox this week. It's an Aussie on Aussie remix: Melbourne boy Styalz Fuego remixes When We Were Young by electro-pop icons Sneaky Sound System , preserving Connie's gorgeous vocals and giving the bassline a more poppy/hip hoppy feel. Thanks to Styalz music label Affinity Music Group for sending it through. Styalz must be a fan of Sneaky, as he has previously remixed their tracks Pictures and [...]
Doing the rounds with the likes of Erol Alkan, Soulwax etc at the moment is this killer remix of Altern 8 by Hostage. Altern 8 - Frequency (Hostage Mix) :: YouSendIt Very nice. Related... [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]

funny, i didn't really like old skool when it wasn't old. i thought most of it sounded scary. now it reminds me of boy racers who you could hear ten minutes before they arrived, underage nights out and sounds a hell of a lot better than the ish kids have to put up with now. i used to go the clubs, sterns in worthing usually, with my boyfriend. i never enjoyed it as it was usually on a thursday night and i had school the next day and I was [...]

Some more quality house from sadly forgotten industrial pioneers Cabaret Voltaire. Cabaret Voltaire moved from Virgin to EMI/Parlaphone in 1986. This coincided with the start of the influence of House music in the UK and reinvigorated Cabaret Voltaire. Here are some more tracks from their 1988/89 recording sessions with Marshall Jefferson. Cabaret Voltaire - Easy Life (Jive Turkey Mix) Cabaret Voltaire - Fluid [...]

Some more from the early techno innovator Joey Beltram, this time focusing on his remix work. Joey Beltram grew up in Queens, New York, the son of a Mexican father and an Italian mother. In his tough surroundings, he stood his own ground and won the necessary respect on the street with his graffiti art. "Poes" is his pseudonym, which still can be found, once in a while, as the signature under some of the big, colorful graffiti works. Back in 1983, at [...]
You may recognize this from a certain Belgium band's documentary teaser. Altern 8 - Frequency
For a while there was a track at the back of my mind that I found incredibly difficult to dredge back out, it was a kind of deep house track called Tonight, and featured a languorous female vocal with the words 'Tell him I'm gonna make love to him toniiiighttt'. Other than that the only detail I could remember was that it was by a band with Boys or Girls or similar in the title, so trying to track it down wasn't exactly easy. Looking for something else today, I noticed the stock MCA disc label and remembered that this [...]

Image credit: Michael Berrigan Cosmo is back with a load of goods! He has teamed up with Mister Ed (up and coming DJ/promoter from Montreal), from Nu Ravers on the Block , with a remix of "Ce Jeu", by the French group, Yelle . Lots of sidechain action on this and a great one for those on the dancefloor!! He has also sent us two other tracks including a remix of "Armageddon", by the early 90's breakbeat hardcore duo, Altern-8 , that played gigs in "chemical warfare [...]
Dunno why but I was in the jungle mood today, and you shall reap the benefits. While I'm not usually the biggest fan of artists purposefully misspelling their names, one of the exceptions I make is for early rave/jungle duo Altern8. Starting in '89 and breaking up in '93 these lucky bastards got to see the unfolding of the UK rave scene while putting out a couple of albums with a handful of singles that got some chart attention. Secondly I'll throw in a Prodigy song. I'm sure that [...]
