Say what you will about his latest work , Glenn Danzig is still one of the godfathers of goth-metal, and an icon in many eyes. Those eyes will get a chance to behold their dark hero when he takes his Danzig outfit out on the road this spring. Already announced for Columbus, OH's Rock On The Range , the band has added 21 dates beginning April 29th in Las Vegas. Lots of smaller markets get some attention, like Ventura, CA and Corpus Christi, TX, in addition to Austin, TX, Boulder, CO, Atlanta, GA, Baltimore, [...]
GOBBLE GOBBLE is the hyperactive, futuristic techno-pop project of San Francisco via Canada pop experimentalist Cecil Frena. Caught in a strange dialogue between harsh noise, future-leaning electronic music, indie rock signifiers and mainstream pop, GOBBLE GOBBLE's sounds are unorthodox to say the least. Stuttering, blown-out and chopped guitar peals, erratic, bubbling synth arpeggios, crunked-out, sparkling 808 hats and bursts of meticulously processed digital noise abound: all these boisterous bits held in place by the steady pulse of grooves that would,...

Such as Fallin´ In Love by American Spring, a Brian Wilson produced pop gem from ´73. Penned by Beach Boys brother and drummer [...]
I have been on the Dennis Wilson love train lately. Here he is singing "Lady," the b-side to Dennis' first single in 1970. When I found out that in the later-seventies Dennis and Christine McVie were in love, that made total sense to me. Lady- Dennis Wilson Brian Wilson recorded his wife Marilyn's group, American Spring, singing the song under it's alternate title, "Fallin' In Love" in 1973. This is the version I first fell in love with, but Dennis' is catching up fast with it. [...]

Happy Birthday, Brian!
Today (June 20) is the birthday of genius songwriter, singer and producer Brian Wilson. It's completely appropriate that tomorrow is the first day of summer. Because more than anyone, Brian Wilson created the image of this hot season through his songs. He celebrates the lifestyle of Southern California: the beaches, the girls, the cars and of course surfing, and with the Beach Boys he gave summer a soundtrack. No matter where you are or what time it may be, whenever you play Wilson's music the sun is suddenly out and surf's up. It's the sound of fun and freedom. So today we celebrate the sounds of summer - [...]
Interviews: The Duke Spirit's Liela Moss
Ah, the beauty of the Interweb! Not only did its magic allow me to conduct an interview with The Duke Spirit 's Liela Moss via e-mail recently, this evening it turned me on to one of her favorite songs. "Lady" was originally recorded by Beach Boys' Dennis Wilson & Rumbo . The song Liela opted to share with you is a cover of that song by a 70s group called American Spring which featured Brian Wilson's one-time wife, Marilyn. The song was renamed and released as "Fallin' In Love" in 1973. Yeah, I'm rambling about what Wiki [...]
