Houston's American Fangs have been touring America relentlessly over the past couple years, performing with everyone from Saul Williams to Sick Puppies to Deftones. They also churn out tracks at an alarming rate. Check out "Black Eyed", their newest: If you've had a really tough week and are thinking of taking it easy tonight, waking up early tomorrow and having a nice little Saturday, quit being a pussy and watch their video for "Le Kick." They got a warehouse, a hand-held camera, and [...]

We had three great bands all competing for the prestigiousness that comes with being the RiO! Band of the Month for September. In the end, however, only one could lay claim to that most lofty title and they are American Fangs from Houston, TX. Trashy, garage-rock is the name of their game with their song, "Le Kick," leading the way. Screaming vocals, a rousing chorus and super-distorted guitar lines can easily allow you to visualize the mosh pit taking place in a basement with stone walls with that one [...]

Our Band of the Week comes to us from Houston, Texas but these dudes aren't any type of cowboys...because they'd technically be Texans fans right? I mean, isn't it a crime for someone from Houston to be a Cowboys fan? Even back when their team was the Oilers? OK, now I'm ranting. Guys, make some noise for American Fangs. There are a lot of ways someone could describe this band but I'm gonna stick to awesome. AF are a band that bring a sound that comparable [...]
The Love Shots American Fangs Imagine Dragons
I got an email about American Fangs a couple of weeks ago. I almost didn't listen because the logo and language gave a distinctly emo/screamo/pop punk kinda vibe. But the dudes in the band photo didn't really look like emo pussies so I gave it a go. Well, it turns out that while there are traces of pop punk, American Fangs are way more on par with a band like The Bronx. Like The Bronx, these

Saul Williams Saul Williams with his album, The Inevitable Rise & Liberation of Niggy Tardust , Saul showed that he truly is a genuine and unique 'hip-hop' artist. Featuring a cover of U2's Sunday Bloody Sunday , the album produced by Trent Reznor/ NIN is a clash of industrial clangs and free flowing hip-hop with a dash of Prince . First establishing himself as an influential poet, and then as an award-winning screenwriter/actor, Saul Williams then went on to establish himself [...]

This is an interesting weekend festival taking place August 8-9 in Elanor Tinsley Park in Houston, TX, featuring Of Montreal, Broken Social Scene, What Made Milwaukee Famous and Explosions in the Sky, among others. Lineup looks cool, but Houston in August is literally the worst place on the entire earth outside of an active war zone. But, tickets are super cheap ($12 for the weekend?!) so it's a tradeoff. Get tickets here and find the lineup after the jump. Broken Social Scene Explosions in the Sky [...]
