Florence Welch and The Dap-Kings put their spin on Amy Winehouse 's "Back To Black" during the Amy Winehouse Tribute at VH1 "Divas Celebrates Soul." Florence Welch doesn't really seem like a strong representation of "diva" or "soul," but she's right around the borderline of each, and her classy style and powerful vocals make pretty much anything she does work in her favor. VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul aired last night, and each of the soulful ladies who took part brought their best game. "Today is probably one of the best days of my life," Jessie J said during the telecast. "I feel like crying. I'm probably going to cry when it's over, happy tears." Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Last night, VH1 aired its VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul special, which featured a whole lot of wailing. And one of the wailers present was Florence Welch, who showed up to stunningly whoop her way through a pair of covers: Annie Lennox's "Walking On Broken Glass" and a truncated version of Amy Winehouse's "Back To Black." One thing that sets Florence apart from just about every other indie-identified singer: She does not look the least bit out of place on a show like this one. Florence Welch VH1 had the best intention when they gathered a few stars to pay tribute to the late Amy Winehouse at their 'VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul' event. It's just a real shame the actual performance didn't quite come together.
