Damon Albarn puts that memorable, monotone voice to good use in "DoYaThing" with backups by Andre 3000 and James Murphy on the production. I haven't been this pumped about a new song in a minute. This is THE JAM. The Gorillaz featuring James Murphy (of LCD Soundsystem fame) and one of the greatest emcee's/musicians ever to do it Andre 3000 aka Andre Benjamin aka Andre 3 stacks. Dude is the truth. Musically ridiculous. I love this track. James and Damon lay down a sick musical track while Andre steals the show. Leaving the song begging for a new Outkast album by the end. Enjoy.

Gorillaz recruit an unlikely Andre 3000 and James Murphy formerly of LCD Soundsystem for this track "Do Ya Thing." The track is dropping through Converse tomorrow, but you can listen to this radio rip to preview the track. This collaboration is one for the books. I dig it.

There they all are up there, feet joined together in a biologically unholy pair of Chucks: Damon Albarn's gawky 2D, Jamie Hewitt's sinister Murdoc, André 30002s crypto-watchman, and James Murphy's serene baboon sensei. And the collaboration sounds but exactly like you would expect it to sound. It's patently obvious who is responsible for each element of the song. Besides the laconic 2D act, the bouncy 303 bassline bears the fingerprints of Albarn, while the supremely tight beat is Murphy's creation through and through. Aside being obsessed with this collaboration, I'm flat out obsessed with the song. It's a typical Gorillaz track in the form a fast and furious electro-punk tune, spiced up with Murphy's unmistakable wobbly singing and some furious verses from Andre 3000 . My favorite part of the song, which we can thank Converse for, is at the end of the track when someone starts asking "Can we get an Outkast album now? Can we get an Outkast album now?!" But seriously, can we get a new Outkast album now?!!
