Interview Andrew W.K. WORDS and PHOTO by TRAVIS GILLETT Well, I never thought I'd say (write) this sentence in my whole miserable life: I recently had the opportunity to interview Andrew W.K . Yup, the man once chosen to represent our fine nation and the power of "positive partying" on an international scale took time from his diplomatic endeavors to entertain my stupid questions. After meeting Andrew (first name basis, duh), my [...]

photo by Dave Lichterman Hot Chip released this confusing but totally amusing video for "Don't Deny Your Heart" - where those who have been denying their hearts are the video game soccer players. What starts as an innocent game controlled by a group of fun-times-having people becomes the video game having a mid of its own and ends in a huge field of soccer players kissing. Well, that didn't last long at all. Earlier today we passed along the strange-but-true news that the State Department had invited Andrew W.K. to the US embassy in Bahrain as part of a cultural exchange; now a spokesperson is telling DCist that the trip planned for next week is longer happening. The official explanation: "The embassy determined that was probably not a best choice and didn't meet our standards."
