Bonobo's insanely smooth Black Sands released almost two years ago, however now he's on the promotional push behind the follow up, Black Sands Remixed. The album features reworks from the likes of Machinedrum, Falty DL, Floating Points, and the bubbling Lapalux. Ninja Tune staple Bonobo, delivers his usual down-tempo syncopated dopeness whilst Dels and Ms. Triana paint a picture ala Tupac Shakur's "Brenda's Got a Baby." This joint is good enough on its own but the visuals are what brings it all together. The projection technique we've seen popularized by the TDE crew is used here but in a different way. Water, fire, wood, electricity and blood bring the video alive. The projected earth elements give the otherwise empty house a feeling of depth and movement. To promote the forthcoming remix album for Bonobo 's already-classic 2010 release Black Sands , Ninja Tune tapped animator Anthony Scheppard to give us some decidedly mind-bending visuals for Machinedrum 's remix of "Eyesdown." The insanely prolific Machinedrum continues his winning streak with the remix, adding a peppy, juke-influenced drum pattern to replace the original's jazzy saunter, offsetting it with some genuinely sinister bass and using the altered context to make Andreya Triana 's sultry vocals more appropriate for the club than the cocktail lounge.
