Good times tonight watching KT play softball and then eating at Canter's for the first time (not including matzoh ball soup take-out). It was good! That's about all I have to say about today. Part of it was good. I haven't posted one of these in a while, so here are the best Google search results of the day which have directed Internet users to Swan Fungus during the last hour: 10. Sinbad re-married his ex-wife 09. Reasons to go for it and date 08. Coolness burger king sex 07. I realize what is my [...]
I feel like I'm running a day behind with these blog posts. Oh, wait - I am. Well, let's make a quick mix tape and be done with this so I can focus on the real Monday blog update! CNN's website had some interesting headlines this morning: ...seems a bit optimistic if you ask me. ...it's good to see CNN reporting on timely news stories. Okay, mix tape time! RULES for uninitiated noobs : With roughly 100MB of webspace, I give birth to a [...]

"Osaka-based artist Takushi "Maso" Yamazaki has taken quite a turn these past couple of years. His more well-known alter-ego Masonna is best known for ear shredding cut'n'paste sonic assaults. Masonna's live performances consisted of Yamazaki screaming into two or three microphones, hurling himself onto effects boxes and destroying just about anything in his way. Yamazaki's interest in analogue electronics and modular synthesis was evident on his collaboration with Fusao Toda (of Angel 'In Heavy Syrup) -- Christine 23 Onna's "Shiny Crystal Planet" -- a hyper blend of '60s exotic breaks flooded with psychedelic synthesizers and tons of echo. As Space [...]

Yeah, that's me, wearing an original "Thriller" jacket worn and autographed by Michael Jackson during his world tour. No, that's not how I spent your donations, I swear. I just needed a picture of myself wearing it. You know, because you never know when you're going to need a picture of yourself looking like a flaming homosexual... 75orLess blog! Kevin from Ohio! The two of you combined put the Swan Fungus blog's first (and only) fundraiser over the lofty goal of $350 in two weeks! Thank you everybody who donated, I think I've mentioned you all by name [...]

Oh, CNN/CareerBuilder. Your Top Tens are becoming a weekly must-read. Each successive foray into the world of list-making has been more inane than the last. I really thought you bottomed out with the list of "25 reasons why you're not getting the job." This week I am once again convinced that you have bottomed out. "10 best excuses for coming to work late" might be the dumbest, most juvenile list I have ever read in my entire life. Seriously, in what way is this list supposed to help anybody? It's like ten "the dog ate my [...]

It's been LA-cold recently. That is, daytime temperatures have hovered around 70, and at night the thermostat is dipping into the 50s. Even though I happen to be looking at the specific numbers at this very moment, I don't need a weather website to tell me it's been cold. My internal weather station is more accurate than any meteorologist. Each year when the temperatures begin to drop I get a head cold. Sure enough, I had one last week that lasted four or five days. I also experience pain in my hands, which I believe is a result of the [...]

I passed out early last night and slept rather late today. I guess it was more comforting to be in my own bed after a lazy day spent entirely in an automobile than it was sleeping on a couch after a series of painful days spent unpacking and arranging furniture. And yet, even after getting nine hours of sleep, I'm still tired. Would You Their Advice? I didn't have time to mention this last week, but [...]
