I've been a fan of Ash Bolland 's work at Umeric for a while now, but I only realized tonight that these scattered pieces I had kept coming back to over the years were all his. There's something about the live action mixed with 3D that's other worldy and strange that I absolutely love. Some of these organic models make no sense, but they're beautifully designed and rendered and also amazing to watch interact with the environment. The four above sort of detail his latest work first, middle work second and third and oldest work last. Really [...]
"What's your favorite animal?" It was an odd, random question, but as ice-breaking inquiries go, that one is a lot better than "Top or bottom?" or "Is it true what they say about black men?" I'll allow the question, I thought to myself. My response: "It would have to be a three-way tie between dogs, seals and penguins. When I'm in Australia, I add possums and koalas, and after my recent trip to Chiangmai, I'm more into monkeys and elephants than ever." Him: "My favorite animal is the human." [...]
Photos of Ryan McGinley's photos by G. From "Animals" by Ryan McGinley New art trend: Why have one exhibit when you can have many exhibits? Lately, I've been seeing the same artist having multiple exhibitions simultaneously at different galleries within the same city (and often a bonus exhibition in another city). Photographer Ryan McGinley is riding on that curve as he's got two exhibits in New York currently. Team Gallery is hosting two separate exhibitions from McGinley - "Animals" and "Grids." [...]
"Expectations for the album? We hope it makes people dance." With the UK slipping once again into recession, worrying itself silly over the upcoming Olympics and continually being let down by politicians cosying up and whoring themselves out to big business, it is comforting to know that nearby, quite hop over the Irish Sea in fact, that there is a group of young upstarts that just want to make people dance. Armed with their debut album Family , a jerky collection of guitar-pop due out in June, Dublin's The Cast of Cheers have [...]
Flight Facilities's great single "With You",...
Flight Facilities 's great single "With You", has an even better video to go along with it. Animator Ben Drake spent 4 months making this comic book/anime treat for all to enjoy. Our main character, a down and out superhero, looks like a cross between Megaman and a Power Ranger. A forbidden love story unfolds before our eyes, and while it ultimately leads through a lot of destruction, the thrill of the chase is just too tempting too ignore. Seriously though, this is one of the best made videos of the year. Buy the single . [...]

Animation. Life Is Your Creation.
The LADY GAGA is heading to an episode of The Simpsons, coming to your telly soon, and it appears that when that happens she-popper will lose little in translation to cartoon, sporting a seafoam-and-white punky dress accented with a tiara and platform shoes. They're being rather generous on her face don't you think ?! And you're not a fan of the attire ? Well fear not. Jpeg above is only one of 18 outfits that the GAGA will wear in the episode, which airs May 20 on Fox.
Pets Vs. People: Would I Rather Spend the Day with an Elephant?

Axwell's new track premieres in new 3D animated video from Carlsberg
Carlsberg is getting in on the EDM marketing craze and has teamed up with a bunch of big DJs for its "Where's The Party?" campaign. One of the names involved is none other than Axwell, who "stars" in a new minute-long trailer for the company. We say "stars" because it's not actually Ax himself, but rather a 3D avatar zooming around an animated city and DJing an animated show. (Don't worry, it's cooler than it sounds.) The most notable part of the video is that it's set to a brand new track from Axwell [...]

How 'The Hunger Games' Movie Should Have Ended
The gang behind some of the best movie ending rewrites, How It Should Have Ended , have offered up their Hunger Games rewrite. The hilarious video makes the case that (a) Edward Cullen should have been killed at some point, (b) the movie needed more onscreen violence and blood splatter, and (c) unrelated to the video, I was confused as all hell after watching the movie then decided to reread Catching Fire and Mockingjay. Peeta gets a robotic leg? Why would the movie not include that?
