Anonymous has ended a rather busy week with a hack of the CIA website, which is currently offline. The CIA.gov website has been unresponsive for about an hour. Well-known hacker organization Anonymous decided to strike back after the Megaupload shutdown earlier today. The twitter account @AnonOps seems to be claiming responsibility for the attacks on several websites: 'One thing is certain: EXPECT US! #Megaupload'. Anonymous attacked the websites for the Department of Justice, Universal Music Group, the Recording Industry Association of America, and the Motion Picture Association of America. A representative from the Department of Justice told CNN Money : "We are having website problems, but we're not sure what it's from".
Popular uploading and sharing site Megaupload has been officially shut down by the FBI. Along with the site shutdown several employees were incited and are facing charges (some in New Zealand).
