Get Ready In Theatres: Oct 31 / EU Nov 7 / US Quantum of Solace is the 22nd film in the Bond franchise. This Bond, which will hit theaters this fall, is the first to not have been born from an Ian Fleming novel. (Actually, this isn't completely true - while the plot line is completely original, several characters and the title of the film are lifted from Fleming books.) [...]

DATELINE: PORTLAND, OR Hot New Release (a Free Album) and Cool New Developments! ANOTHER CYNTHIA This probably won't be the last time I tell you how much I am enjoying Another Cynthia's latest project or flash back to what they have already done (numerous accolades including RSL Underrated Album of the Year 2006 . I mean, everyone loves an underdog especially one that's this talented.) But [...]
Pic from SharkvsBear I'm getting caught up with the promos finally. Here's some more for you to check out. My favorite this week is from Dawn Landes. Listen up Portland, Dawn plays at Doug Fir on April 30th. In other news you may have noticed that we have added a new page that has a complete [...]

I haven't felt much like posting because medicine & study have been so compelling lately. I'm also back on an osteopathic manipulation roll after being reminded of just how high-yield a few minutes of targeted hands-on treatment can be for someone in pain. I promise I will soon post regular soundtrack-of-my-life updates, or at least a bunch of songs I dig, since I'm crossing my fingers for dull times ahead. I plan to take my first round of board exams in May or June, so I'd rather my life not imitate most of the angst-ridden indie [...]

Coming Soon: I have a handful of show reviews coming up, new albums to rate for you and a couple of rare live recordings. Come on back tomorrow. I am working on something big but am pretty much taking the day off from significant posts. ( By the way, enter my free album giveaway! ) I do have an exceptional song to share with you today. Portland's Another Cynthia is one of my favorite bands in the country. In 2006 I named their self-titled debut [...]

Yours truly did a little bit more talking about music than usual this week. I appeared yesterday on Break Thru Radio - a question and answer piece on the Bloggeratti program with talented host - DJ RachelAndTheCity. The piece is intended, I suppose, to meet traveled music bloggers from all over the country. We did the briefest of profiles, talked about the blog and then I got to spin some records. Pretty cool. [...]

It's Friday evening and wanted to leave you with some great music. The profile artist for the weekend is Another Cynthia. I first wrote about them last August and I actually ended up naming them the Most Underrated Band in 2006. Yep - Definitely Worthy of a listen and a place in your collection. Just remember you saw it here first ( again. ) ANOTHER CYNTHIA - the band you'll leave your current favorite indie CD [...]

Today is the day I have been awaiting for a six months now. I am pretty much hopelessly addicted to the Fox television program "24" and tonight is the two hour premiere of Season Six! Yes, it's American television and a regular series - two things that usually add up to complete crap - but this is routinely the best thing on television. It's action packed, unpredictable and the issues (while overblown at times) are ones we are dealing with in our lives these days. [...]

It ( Almost ) Slipped through the Cracks 2006 #4 A mp3 music series to be published over the month of January! WHAT TO EXPECT * Lesser known or under-appreciated songs from favorite artists * Releases that most people missed because they were listening to top forty radio. * Alternate, remix & live sets from '06 artists that cast the material in a [...]

Just a few songs I threw together to commemorate the single best and worst days in some people's professional careers: The Office X-Mas Party. A social conundrum that haunts even the smartest Einsteins in the room. Great Party! Ignore the hated office loser or talk to the troll? Should I hit on the coworker who I think is cute and single? Shake hands or an end [...]

This is a repost of an earlier blog, (one of my very first back in the beginning of August!) but dammit - this band is hot! They were due for another appearance. Just remember you saw it here first. ANOTHER CYNTHIA - the band you'll leave your current favorite indie CD for. A 2006 must have for your collection! [...]

The Perfect Fit - Unexpected Mood Music * A Playlist for people who like all kinds of music. A Dozen new tracks from some of the best bands. Each song has its place and time. [...]

Feeling The James Bond vibe Casino Royale: Easily the Best Bond film in a Generation Even a casual Bond fan will tell you they didn't agree with selection of relative newcomer Daniel Craig for this latest incarnation of MI6 super spy James Bond. Why now? Casino Royale is an important movie - based on Ian Fleming's very first Bond novel - a low action, deeply [...]
Welcome to blog radio volume eight. I would be silly not to call this post, "the ocho." Crop Circle - Message from Aliens or from Bored Pranksters? And so there it is. I usually save these blog radio spots for the weekends, but I have heard so many tracks this week that I was into - I just couldn't wait. These songs, by the way - for new visitors, are what I am listening to and where whimsy

music like diamonds a pocket filled with sunshine - you can count on these tracks : Asobi Seksu - Strawberries (the Cassettes Won't Listen remix) The Cure - Just Like Heaven [...]
