Anthem In - Down Anthem In's debut, Anthem In , is a competent but ultimately unremarkable CD. Anthem In do approachable party/moody rock with a dark crunch. Songs are either reminiscent of Nada Surf, the little Jimmy Eat World that I know, or Death Cab for Cutie. Brooklyn-based Anthem In fits very nicely in the Rogue Wave/Pinback niche while putting their own mark on their infectious, guitar-rich, layered dance-rock. Allen Orr provides the soft vocals and lashing guitar, with Ashley Proffitt playing some sweet synths. Keith Vogelsong (bass) and Paul Petitto (drums) complete the rest of the sound. Add that to catchy tunes and lyrics that invite a sing-along, and you have an excellent record, which describes their self-titled full-length debut, just released this past week. Brooklyn-based Anthem In fits very nicely in the Rogue Wave/Pinback niche while putting their own mark on their infectious, guitar-rich, layered dance-rock. Allen Orr provides the soft vocals and lashing guitar, with Ashley Proffitt playing some sweet synths. Keith Vogelsong (bass) and Paul Petitto (drums) complete the rest of the sound. Add that to catchy tunes and lyrics that invite a sing-along, and you have an excellent record, which describes their self-titled full-length debut, just released this past week.
