Continuing to get caught up with the immense...okay, considerable...okay, bunch of music on the desk, I thought I'd start by sharing another track from the terrific recent self-titled release from Audrye Sessions. If there's any justice in the musical world, this band and this EP will get the recognition and sales it so richly deserves. You don´t receive a nice popsong in the mail that often, but I just got lucky. Antiqcool has already released two albums in the past, but I have to admit this British collective from Chester was not on my radar until now. Placing a prominent sticker on the front of your new release that lists the bands that have influenced the recording does you no favours at all. It practically invites the listener to spend their time spotting the references rather than actually listening to the music. A particular shame in the case of Antiqcool for Songs Of Hope And Despair is anything but a lazy re-tread of already familiar sounds.
