Der Postkasten meldet sich wieder und umschmeichelt mein Indiehirnherzbauchfuß mit toller Promomusik. Dran ist jetzt eine Band aus Chicago namens "Apteka". Worum gehts? Toller, melodieorientierter, leicht psychedelischer Indierock mit Bezug zu Ride, Swervedriver, Verve und ähnliche Konsorten. Klingt gut? Ist gut! Wir dürfen zwei tolle Promosongs posten und bitten somit um 1000fache Verbreitung der bisher ohne Plattenenvertrag fleissig tourenden Band. Warum die Jungs sich allerdings "Apotheke" auf polnisch nennen, ist mir vollständig unklar und erschwert die Suche nach der Band in Google auf nicht unerhebliche Weise... Draußen regnet es in Strömen, und da ist es doch angebracht, mal wieder etwas moll-lastigere Töne zu präsentieren. Wie wäre es beispielsweise mit der Band Apteka aus Chicago, die mich unlängst bei Myspace anfunkte? Zu ihren Refernzen zählen sie Cure, Bauhaus und Joy Division , doch ganz so finster, wie man jetzt vermuten könnte, klingt ihre Musik wirklich nicht. Sie geht eher in Richtung Shoegaze/Psychedelic, und lässt einiges für die Zukunft erhoffen. Vor allem «If you were here» (KEINE Kent-Coverversion!) ist absolut fabulös und toll und wird auf meinem Jahresmix 2006 zu finden [...]
