After five seasons and an emotional rollercoaster of a finale, Chuck has finally come to an end. The NBC action-comedy show revolved around computer nerd-turned-spy Chuck Bartowski and his handlers Sarah Walker and John Casey. While fighting an infinite supply of villains and dealing with personal relationships that came along the way, the group grew incredibly close and ultimately became a family. Chuck has been known for its focus on indie rock in its soundtrack, using songs from the likes of The Shins, Arcade Fire, and Band of Horses. We'll miss Chuck, the hundreds [...]

In retrospect, with a name alluding to the famous novella written by one of my favorite authors (John Steinbeck), it was inevitable that I would explore the music of the band Of Monsters and Men. This six-piece indie/folk band is just the latest Icelandic group to emerge from the small, remote island that seemingly produces more internationally-acclaimed musicians than it should, joining the likes of Sigur Rós, Björk, Emiliana Torrini and the last artist I interviewed, Ólöf Arnalds. In 2010, Of Monsters and Men broke onto the Icelandic music scene when they won the nation-wide battle [...]

Filed under: News , Exclusive , The Hit List Getty Images (2) If it seems like the hip new bands of 2012 remind you of something you've heard before, one, you're old, but two, you're right. The adage "everything old is new again" is particularly applicable to modern music and there are a lot of acts who feel mighty familiar right now. Sensing a time-based forensic piece, we jumped in the Official Spinner [...]
![[Introducing] – French Wives](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4016440_lg.jpg)
Tweet Time and time again we've seen bands with an interesting or mysterious background help bring them to fame ( The Weeknd or WU LYF come to mind, for example), but, really, this is a music business, and the music should really do most of the talking. French Wives hail from Glasgow, Scotland and wish they had an interesting back-story as to how the band formed. Instead, they've got some great tunes to serve as their introduction. The five members of the Scottish band (Siobhan [...]

Is President Obama a fan of independent music? Apparently so, as he's looking for support from a couple of popular independent bands. I've got the full story in the latest Major Bands, Minor Labels , along with downloads, music videos, and recommendations. Read the latest MBML HERE .

Win Butler has it all a good woman at home a Grammy winning buzzband and the swag to stand on tables whenever the eff he wants 'All u rich bitches better listen up I'm Win Fucking Butler I can drain shots from anywhere on the court and I have a bitching post-up game There is simply no stopping me If I didn't play indie music I am confident that I would be contributing to a championship-caliber team in the NBA playing around 30 minutes per game [...]
A small portion of the ugliness. The past 24 hours have been admittedly strange for the cult of Justin Vernon. As has already been discussed in detail, Bon Iver's self-titled, pastoral folk album is u

The Clash's "Guns of Brixton" is probably one of the greatest rock songs ever written. Anyways, it is certainly one of the best rock tracks ever fused with another genre (considering it is maybe more reggae that rock). I love the way it just oozes defiance, rebellion and urban menace. The three covers I collected here are all pretty unique and really shine a light on different aspects of the source material. It's also just really interesting to see what the covering bands took from the original and what they discarded. Arcade Fire's live version pretty much strips the reggae [...]
Admittedly, I haven't been paying much attention to Arcade Fire for a long time, because last time I listened to them in 2006, the only reasonable song of theirs was "Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)." Yet, even that song is kind of boring. Not into the whole "Modest Mouse" pitchy voice thing either. In 2006 when "Tunnels" was released, we knew two people who talked about how awesome the band was. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, always, but those same two people also enjoyed bands like Rascal Flatts, Pete Yorn and Lifehouse, which pretty much speaks for itself. [...]

The list includes Arcade Fire, the Roots, Wilco, Regina Spektor, and Vampire Weekend.

Arcade Fire @ Obama Staff Ball ( more by Bao Nguyen ) A list of celebrities, reportedly created by Obama 's campaign, sent out on December 5, and acquired by the Tennessean ( PDF HERE ), is being passed around the internet . The list, heavily populated with people who we already know support Obama, is supposedly a wishlist of people the Obama administration hopes to get public support from again in this upcoming election. Among the names on the list: Arcade Fire, Vampire Weekend, Wilco Regina Spektor, Janelle Monae, [...]
I don't know if it's due to the shitty weather of London, but lately I've started to get into a lot of house music that's slightly deeper and more down tempo than the stuff I usually listen to. There's just something about it's characteristically laid-back melodies that seem to match my mood at the moment. A perfect example of such songs are Ripperton 's edit of Arcade Fire's iconic song "The Suburbs." Basing most of his efforts around the track's signature chorus, the Swiss producer mellows out the original by complimenting Win Butler's riveting vocals with orchestral samples and what [...]
