The big news in the blogosphere today is ArcadeFireTube finding confirmation that Arcade Fire and James Murphy are currently working on three new tracks that may appear on Arcade Fire's new album. Scott Rodger, Arcade Fire's manager, recently told Music Week , "They're in with James Murphy on three or so songs, plus Markus Dravs who is a long-time collaborator. They write too many songs - that's a good problem to have. There's around 35 songs with Arcade Fire, two albums'-worth for sure." [...]

It's been confirmed that James Murphy is set to appear on the next Arcade Fire record. This weekend, a hundred lucky fans were treated to a secret Arcade Fire gig at Breakglass Studios in their hometown of Montreal. Performing under the pseudonym Les Identiks , the band played several new songs which were described as uptempo and percussion-driven. There was a strict no photo and no video rule in place, so unfortunately no footage from this special occasion. While there's no official date, expect their new LP to be out sometime in the latter part of next year. Read more at The Vine .
