The Blogophilia repost project continues... We've been busy with a lot of good submissions, and that's a good thing. It's time to take a breather. Today, we move forward with our goal of re-posting past volumes of Blogophilia due to demand. Remember, we're doing this all the way to volume 22, and then phhffttt! We're stopping there. Volumes 23-28 are currently active (zip format only for volumes 23-27), and we're making re-posted volumes available for about a week. Get 'em while you can. Blogophilia 15 [...]

Maniacally groovy and largely unhinged extended play release from a shadowy Watford, England-based collective centered around a chap named Paul Terris. Maybe. The six-year-old band's bio is pocked with extended blackouts, 50 shows here, a release party for a never-released record there, no personnel. One press quote charmingly deems Wartgore Hellsnicker "music for people that don't like other people." But the recordings -- four on this EP, to be released at the end of next month by determined foot-shooter Audio Antihero -- are solid gold. Wartgore Hellsnicker brutally propounds an SST-flavored guitar [...]
This was released late last year but we missed it and the video is cool so here you go:

The Daily Street has been on a roll with there mixtapes. Since the middle of May they've been featuring a monthly guest mix, and they've been excellent. They've featured some great bass/uk funky/garage artists, and Hackman drops an excellent one. It leans more heavily on house, but moves through garage and bass. The majority of ... Read more

Can it really be almost a whole year ago since we reported that ex-Lift To Experience legend Josh T Pearson was to make a rare appearance at the much loved End Of The Road Festival's Christmas party? Where the year has disappeared to is anyone's guess, but the time has come once more for Christmas celebrations and with that the annual announcement of End Of The Road's festive shenanigans. Held at London's newest venue XOYO on Thursday 16 December (the night after TLOBF's yet-to-be-announced Xmas bash), topping the bill are Domino heroes Archie Bronson [...]

Happy Halloween everybody! Every year on this day evil spirits let down their hair and remind us that everything is going to be alright. Or something. If you want a "Halloween theme" playlist you've come to the wrong place! This is just a party mix. You want something like that check out stereogum. It's always good to see what comments people make there too cause there's always SOMEONE saying "oh but what about...?" Kind of like the time I dj'd and someone asked me to play Daryl Braithwaite's The Horses. Now THAT's scary! Let's kick off [...]

Things I have learned this week: Do not try & write a blog post whilst on valium . It's not big or clever. Back pain is a muthafucker . Here are some tunes that have helped me through my convalescence. Archie Bronson Outfit- Cherry Lips (Download) Don Gardner- My Baby Likes To Boogaloo (Download) Xeper- Carceres Ex Novum (Download)
The Kritzlers - "Head in the Ether" MP3/download Excitement ... that prickly feel of electricity in the air; can you feel it or what? Spine-tingly joy is all mine when I get a fresh 7-inch in the mail because I like to RIP and RHYME and REVIEW and, sometimes, when I'm wrong, REDACT. So THERE. [...]

I am still trying to figure out whether I am more or less busy now that I have liberated myself from the enormous inconvenience of a job which actually deigned to pay me money for my efforts and embraced idle dilettantism. Mrs. Toad was cruelly subjected to a weekend with my side of the family this weekend, while I went off gallivanting at UnConvention Salford, and then popped out to meet a couple of new Manchester friends on Sunday. Oddly enough, she and my mother seem to have developed an oddly functional dysfunctional relationship, based largely [...]
A look at the loud and rock guitar-based acts playing the festival with a few weirder bands thrown in for good measure. 1. Foals (Friday) A formidable live band, Foals have taken a more layered, subtle approach on current album Total Life Forever , largely leaving behind their original math-rock sound. However, there'll still be room left for floorfillers like 'Cassius' and 'Balloons' among their more atmospheric newer material. 2. The Horrors (Sunday) Regarded as a [...]

While Domino records didn't go irreparably off track, but where they once were the pinacle of cool indie, they started getting a little wanky with the electro dance bands a few years back. I guess you can't fault them for correctly judging which way the wind blows - they are a business after all. On the other hand, when you've forged your place as one of the reliable sources of good music and then you change... well.... what can be said about that? It looks like they are trying to correct their path recently though - which has [...]
