In 1997, Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Eric Chedéville started up the label Crydamoure. Their approach to house music was different; the vibes very melodic, exotic, and rhythmic. It was one of the first labels to have band and guitar influences in its production. Homem-Christo and Chedéville worked under the alias "Le Knight Club", whose first Crydamoure release was "Santa Claus/Holiday On Ice". Until i do my interview with Archigram i write about my favourite french bird; Dj Falcon.His name is Stéphane Quême and before producing tracks for the legendary house label Roulé he worked in A&R department at Virgin. In 1999 his released his first EP (on Roulé) called " Hello My Name Is Dj Falcon" and produced a Remix of Cassius's "La Mouche" who is an all-time classic now. It's more than two years ago since two of my favourite DJs, Archigram from Paris, played at my club WE LOVE at Berns cellar (aka 2.35:1). It was a truly great DJ set where they used samplers and drum machines, creating that great live mix feeling you only get from dedicated DJs like them. I discovered this track on Crydamoure Presents Waves II, a compilation on Crydamoure, Guy-Manuel Homem-Christo's fantastic record label that should release more music now. This track Doggystyle is actually a cover of Iggy Pop's I Wanna Be Your Dog. It is interesting to see this reworking of a classic Detroit rock tune in the style of some hard hitting Detroit techno by the way of France.
