After vacationing in that desert, known as the Coachella Valley, being enveloped in such exquisite music, as well as sweaty gyrating bodies, weed, lust, sun, and dust, it was nice to go to a show at night, in a regular concert venue, to hear and experience Crystal Castles. They played The Marquee Theater in Tempe, AZ, 4/24/13, with the Doldrums as their opener. Arizona's Half String haven't performed at home since 1997 but later this month the noise pop vets will mark their homecoming by performing at the 20th Anniversary of the  Beautiful Noise  festival! The event is on at The Hollywood Alley in Mesa, Arizona on Saturday April 27 with a line-up including Astrobrite, Dogshow, Dead Leaf Echo, Tennis System and Cassiopeia ( get tickets ). Beautiful Noise Festival - 20th Anniversary, 4/27/2013. 

Arizona indie-pop group St Ranger  (clever eh?) sent over a track called “It’s ‘Appening” that’s a bit old, but we couldn’t not share something this good. Totally using their color correction tool to a tee, the band creates a psychedelic world filled with warm guitar licks and serene vocals, that make us yearn for Summer. Being so close to the Golden State, they clearly adore the California lifestyle. Check out the peaceful time filled with bikinis, ostriches, and lush scenery below.
