READY ART BRUT !? Our buddies over at Pitchfork had the exclusive on "Lost Weekend", the first single from Art Brut's upcoming fourth album, Brilliant! Tragic! , which is out on May 23rd courtesy of Cooking Vinyl. I gotta say, I was really thrown off by Eddie Argos' voice on the single. Totally different from the loud "talk-rock" that I'm used to. He's like whispering or something? I don't hate it, just was surprised. Very cute love song; the content makes me think along the lines of Example's "Watch The Sun Come Up". Hard [...]

This caught me by surprise and pretty much made my day. Black Francis (Frank Black) produced another Art Brut LP. So awesome. Not only can you hear Francis' influence but I daresay Eddie Argos even mimics Francis' vocal inflections-a little. Art Brut - "Lost Weekend" Brilliant! Tragic! is out May 23rd from Cooking Vinyl

Bombastic, genreless English/German group Art Brut are gearing up to release their fourth album, 'Brilliant! Tragic!' on 23 May. As a special treat, they are launching the album at the Buffalo Bar, Islington, on Saturday the 8th of April 9th, at a show sold exclusively through Pledge Music (tickets available here ). There are only 41 tickets left as of writing, so act quickly. All pledges come with a live EP to be released later and a free download of the track 'Unprofessional Wrestling'. It's a great deal all around, and a portion [...]

Art Brut - Brilliant! Tragic! - Artwork by Jamie McKelvie You can read a brief interview with Jaime about the artwork over at Comic's Alliance . We look forward to hearing Eddie Argos wax poetic on songs like "Axel Rose" and "Sexy Sometimes".

Art Brut are one of those few bands that have never really let me down, even though the wisdom of Ben Parker suggests they will eventually. There's certainly been missteps along the way, most notably on the second album, but even then I tended to enjoy all of the songs individually, even if the record didn't really play well together. Art Brut vs Sata n was a very solid all-round album, and so I'm thrilled by the prospect of a set of new songs. Unprofessional Wrestling turns sex into an elaborate pro-wrestling analogy, [...]
